I am going from one pubic accounting firm to another soon and am considering passing along some of my old coworkers’ resumes to my new firm. I know a lot of them are looking for a new job, and the ones I would consider helping out were all high performers at my old firm. I know a lot of them can get a new job at multiple places by themselves anyways, so I figure I can do a friend a favor and get a referral bonus at the same time.
My question is, do you really think it is a risk to your reputation if you give in along a resume and for some reason my new firm doesn’t like them? I have no reason to think any of them wouldn’t get the job considering they are all very qualified, normal, etc. But let’s say someone has a bad day and doesn’t interview well, do you really think someone would think badly of me just because i referred someone who didn’t get a job?
I am just genuinely curious what the general hesitation is for people to hand in resumes (at least in my experience)
