SIM have always been my weak point. Regardless of how well I know the material. Not sure if its bc English is my second language but I have a hard time understanding what the examinor is asking for. Sometimes the questions are very ambiguous. If I’m at work, I can at least ask my manager to confirm if this is what he/she meant but obviously we can’t do this on the exam. One of the reasons why I am trying to finish all four by Q2. Extra SIM questions will be a make it or break it for me.

Being we only have 3 hours for REG, I’m wondering if many have spent less than 1.5 hours on multiple. For AUD I had 2.5 hours left for SIM and I’ve read many members wrapped up AUD rather quickly, however I haven’t read many comments in regards to left over time for REG.

I appreciate the feedback to help me estimate time limit for each part for REG. Thanks.

If you're going to take the 3 hour version, TRY to allocate as much as time as you can for SIMs. At this point, the MCQs are STILL WEIGHTED more so make sure you do those well. However, I found with REG, that you needed time to use the AL A LOT. I'm almost positive that I wouldn't have passed if I didn't use it. It helped tremendously.

If you can use half the time for SIMs, that's great. My only comment in time management is that if you can't figure it out and you KNOW you can't, just guess and move on. That tends to kill time during MCQ.

Thanks all. Sounds like I would need to dedicate a min of 1.5hour to have enough time to answer all SIM questions.

Would you say the multiple choice questions are rather short and if you know the material, little time is required for each question? For FAR and BEC some of the calculation questions are rather wordy so even if you know the material, the time allocated to each question can be pretty significant.

I only had about an hour left for the SIMs. I do tax for a living and luckily all the SIMs were stuff I pretty much do every day or clients have constant questions about so I knew what code section the answer would be in.
