Anyone know how long before CA CBA cashes your check?

I know that it usually takes a little longer for my check to clear the bank or even show up on my statement. However, unless I’m mistaken, I remember that the prior two times that I have sent in my application, my CBA account shows that payment has been received within a few day of me sending the check. Anyone who has a better idea than I do?

It is 2 days before xmas, I will be honest with you. Wait until the 27th because they are off the 26th.

Other responses above are correct. I've sent them 2 checks so far and they took 4 weeks, or close to it. Why this is, I dont' know but the obvious reason would be that they only go to the bank once a month to do it and don't do weekly remote deposit check runs (using a machine) in their office. In many ways, CBA seems very behind the times. But I won't go into that.

On the same note – on my NTS, it says I have 9 months to schedule and take all 4 parts and if you don't take all of them, you have to pay CBA another $50 (or 100?) I've heard of others whose NTS says “1 year”, in some other states (South Dakota and maybe Alabama and some other southern states.) Really stupid that we pay all this cash to them, only to be shorted 3 months.

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to respond. I'm surprised to hear that it took over four weeks for your check to clear. I hope that means you guys didn't have to wait weeks after it cleared to finally receive you approval letter. I know that for that email, I have had to wait a minimum of three weeks but I guess I thought I they had let me know in the past that they had received my payments a long time before it even cleared. With the holidays upon us, I know the process will probably take longer but I guess I'm just freaking out about them not receiving my checks and then eventually having to wait longer.

crazyleon: Yeah I agree with you. You do pay $50 when you reapply. I actually didn't pay for all section the first time for this same reason. Now I wish I had payed for all four and I wouldn't have to keep waiting for re-approval.

@crazyleon I've also heard of states that the NTS is only good for 3-6 months and then you have to reapply. My state is a 6-month state, but at least at one time 3-month states seemed more common.

@GSD – I paid the CBA $50 for FAR this past summer, knowing that I would be taking it pretty soon (I take it in 2 weeks).
I did not read the fine print, which – come to find out much later – was that “Every testing request we submit on your behalf to NASBA costs $50, no matter how many sections you want to take. We recommend paying for all of the exams you think you will take within 9 months.” Like you, had I known this earlier, I'd have paid for all four at once. Live and sometimes learn.

@Lilla – I don't know why any states would be 3 or 6 months, unless the fee was like 10 bucks for every test request.
It should be the same for all states and it should be 12 months. Just another way for them to capitalize off of other people's weaknesses.

The checks that I've sent take a week to be cashed (from sent date) not sure why others take so long.
My app is approved about four weeks after I send payment in.

oh yeah, forgot to mention, it took them 2 months to approve my application although my transcripts were sent out within a week of my transcript orders at both of my schools. I was beginning to think they never received the application at all, although they did not cash the initial application fee check until right before I got notice that the application was approved. I guess that makes 3 checks for $50 that I have paid them so far. Crazy. I hope they're enjoying my money.
