Anyone experiencing "memory issues" with REG?

    Hi,

Currently, I am on my third round of review REG. However, I still cannot remember clearly all the thresholds, exemption formulas etc. Is there anyone experiencing this too? I thought I grasped all those in the second round, but when I finished reviewing Chapter 8, I found that I forgot the thing from Chapter 1?

Does every threshold need to be remembered? For example, the personal exemption formula for AMT, it says in the passkey that it is a key focus of the exam. Yet, I have never bumped into any questions like this in Becker. Will this kind of content be tested in the exam?

    Thank you!

    FAR - 93 (08/24/2014 - First down!)
    AUD - 91 (11/21/2014 - Second down!!)
    BEC - 90 (02/26/2015 - Third down!!!)
    REG - 94 (05/29/2015 - Touch down!!!!!)

    Here comes my touch down!

I don't think you need to remember all the thresholds specifically to pass but if you are doing well they may you with them for the harder questions.

    Far: 76 (Wiley Test Bank)
    Aud: 77 (Wiley Test Bank)
Reg: 61, 76 (Wiley book, Wiley Test Bank)
    Bec: 86 (Wiley Test Bank)

I wouldn't worry about specific thresholds or phaseouts related to income levels. You do need to know the more general stuff, like which deductions are subject to the 10% of AGI threshold, for example.

And yes, you do need to know how to calculate the exemption amount for AMT.
