Hi everyone! I just have completed my last semester of college and am awaiting my final grades to send to the CBA. I was wondering what the timeline it was for most California applicants to receive their NTS? I’m in a time crunch as I start full-time in February and was hoping to take two exams in the first window. It’s making me really anxious and worried as I heard in older forums it can take up to 6 weeks? However, all of them were dated at least 2 years ago.

I expect to have my final transcripts sent and rushed by next week. Any tips on speeding up the process would be greatly appreciated too 🙂

Also does your CBA online account update if a transcript is received? I'm sending transcripts from 5 schools.

Your transcript needs to show the degree posted. At my university that took two weeks. They won't mail the transcript for two weeks plus the state takes four weeks to review.

Yes, as transcripts are received (I went to four community colleges), the website will show those transcripts received. If one school is lagging, you will be able to tell which one.

You are on drugs – or apple slices – if you think you will pass two tests the first window. You won't have time to learn the material – and if you did – what makes you think there will be appointments available?

    I am in CA.

I had a friend who applied to the CBA and ot a rejection because her transcript hadn't posted her BS. If this happens to you, it will be very, very unlikely that you will be able to take any exam this first quarter. They notify you of the rejection in writing rather than on the website and it takes an additional 2 weeks to get to you after their decision.

When I initially applied, my application and transcripts were received by the CBA, but they didn't made any updates. I called to check on them they said they were received. Then I continued to wait. I got a hold of someone after the 8 week mark and he figured out that although they had been received that they were never looked at. He was able to expedite the process and I got everything that completed whitin that week. So, stuff happens and from what I know, the initial time-frame is about 6-8 weeks, not including any potential mishaps.

Not to be pessimistic, but you will be lucky to be able to sit for one exam in the first quarter with the speed that CA processes applications. They holidays are going to make timing delayed, as well.

Are you already studying? I don't think it is impossible to pass 2 exams in one window, but if you are not already starting to study then it is unlikely you will be able to have enough time in one window to master the material for 2. I am attempting to take FAR on 1/15 and then BEC at the end of February sometime.

Good luck … if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Hmm, I sent my transcripts on 6/05/15 to CBA and I sent my application on 6/19/15. (This is TOO close to call as they recommend sending the transcripts at least 2-3 weeks before completing the application). However, I got approved for the exam 7/23/15. Next step, was to choose the exams you want to take (within 9 months). I paid for 3 parts, close to $600. I got my NTS on 7/29/15.

The 2nd week of July, I did email them and politely asked them when my application was going to be done. Days later, I got my approval to sit. Also, the thing about the rejection, while I got approved to sit for the exam, an ex-coworker of mine, his application was rejected because he carelessly forgot to send an additional transcript from a school he once attended. So I want to say, have your stuff in order and be sure to SEND the stuff and ask about whether they received them. CBA is REALLY good at replying to emails, like sometimes within the business day if early enough or the next business day. The fact that it takes them a lifetime to process an application is beyond me.

Good luck! If 2 tests in one window, I hope you're studying for something right now. But that's pretty hardcore.

I am in CA (San Francisco/San Jose), and I recently signed up for BEC. It took a little over 2 weeks to complete the payment for BEC. But after I received my notification, I had a hard time finding the date I wanted. Believe or not, a lot of seats in April and May are already taken, but there are some seats available in Jan and February. I was just surprised how quickly the seats for the 2nd testing window were filled up.

Anyway, wish you all the best. 🙂

Thank you so much for your detailed replies!

I completed my BA degree in June and have been taking additional courses at a CC for additional units. I have been studying Becker and taking Audit for the past 2 months, but will begin studying FAR soon. I understand it's a heavy task to do two exams in one window, but I'm going to try my best! 🙂 I would just hate to have crammed all the material to not get my NTS and fly out for training…where I'm sure to forget what I've studied.

Hopefully it all works out, but I will pester CBA all the same.
