Just a warning that a Phishing email under the AICPA name was sent out yesterday. The link to the story can be found below:

I had purchased the Ethics CPE course to study for my state Ethics exam and I think that’s how my email address with the AICPA was hacked.

The scumbags are going very low when they have to pretend they're from the AICPA. I doubt anyone would fall for it.

My concern is two things:

The AICPA has set itself up as the expert on combatting fraud and advising companies on the threat.

The fact that my email address and others were sent this malicious email is a concern to me. That means either the AICPA web site or a vendor they use to sell CPE courses has been hacked into and the thiefs now have my email address and maybe my credit card information has been put at risk.

This was not a random phishing email. But targeted to members of an organization that you should be able to trust.
