Imagine how surprised I was, when 3 attempts and six hours later, I passed the exam. Whaaa??? I read all these great stories about pdf books and CTRL+F, and what a breeze it was going to be. It decidedly was not. In the AICPA store, I could only find the format of an interactive powerpoint-type preso of exam/study material combo. And (it’s open book) every time I would search a topic/word, the module would pull me out of the exam and make me start over!

Maybe I just didn’t get how to navigate it? Either way, it’s not as easy as some people are making it out to be!

I was the same way. Thought it'd be easy, take an hour or so. Nope. I ended up writing my answers down, so I could go back into the PowerPoint thing after the test – since I couldn't do it during the test.

What I did was download the pdf of the book (totally different from the presentation part – I never did watch that) and print out the exam from the back of the book. I went through the book using ctrl+f to find the answers and wrote them down. What I thought was the practice exam was the actual exam, so I already had the answers written down. All in all, took about 1.5 hours.

Took me about 6 hours over a lonely thanksgiving break evening at the office to knock it out back in the day.

The AICPA Ethics exam don't play.

So thankful NYS does not have this requirement yet.
But we do have our own specific NYS mandated Ethics CPE requirement every year. Has to be NYS specific course or it doesn't count.

Hi jennifer, how did you find the pdf format of the book? i was not able to locate it. I don't think i was looking at the right place. Please let me know.

@spandey27 When you are in the course, on the bottom right corner there should be a folder named “Resources.” Click on that, and it will bring up all sorts of stuff. The Participant Manual is the pdf version of the book.
