    Hi everyone,

I decided to try to pass the four exam sections before even thinking about graduate school or having to pay for additional credits. I couldn’t face the extra price of all the online courses I’ve researched. In between, I found this wonderful website and was hoping that anyone knew of some tricks other than dropping 10-15k on a masters program.

I’m hoping (fingers crossed) to take my last exam at the end of May. I have 23 credits left I believe. since I need 23 credits anyway, I was thinking of just going ahead and getting a full Masters as well in Accountancy.

But again, if anyone knows of simple, more inexpensive ways to get 23 credits (even without it all ending in another degree) I’d love to hear it. Did everyone on here just go to an online or in-person grad school??? (PS my work will most likely not pay for it unfortunately)

Can’t wait for it all to be over! Thanks in advance!!

You could always just take some community college courses, whether online or in person. They don't even have to be accounting-related. All this time studying accounting, working, and taking the CPA, chances are you're dying to actually pursue something you're interested in. History, film, music, etc.

For instance, a 3 credit course at my local community college is around $450. That's $3,600 for 24 credits. Sure, it's not super cheap, but you may enjoy it a lot more than forcing yourself through a masters program.

Community college is the way to go. If you don't make too much money it may even be free with BOG Grants. Even without these grants you could get 23 units out of the way for less than $750 in a community college (3-4 terms). You can even take golf, cooking, and wine tasting courses to get to 150.

What I did was take a lot of CLEP tests. Try and look for a university that would allow you to take the tests and transfer the credit in. It's probably your cheapest and quickest option. This is what I did in school and it saved me from having to take an extra year of school.

Extension programs would be a good way of doing so. They range anywhere from 3 grand to 7 grand

    BEC 2/26/2016 81
    FAR 05/2016

Purely Roger CPA Review, for now!
