Hello everyone. I am a recent grad studying for the CPA exams like everyone else I am having a hard time finding audit position with a public accounting firm. I have great experience and a high GPA, but I haven’t had any interviews with any of the firms I applied to. I recently started temping for a big media company in NYC and was hired, because I am affiliated with ALPFA. My supervisor is currently the CFO of ALPFA NYand loved that on my resume, he really didn’t care about anything else on it, lol. I had a conversation with him about career advice and he told me he recently left PwC as a manager. He told me my experience and high GPA should have gotten me interviews and thinks it is weird I have not heard any responses. After we spoke about him working at PwC, we spoke about the upcoming ALPFA convention in D.C. as a perfect opportunity for me to meet recruiters from different accounting firms and he wants to introduce me to his old PwC colleagues while we are both there. I just wanted to hear some advice from other people on my situation. I am kinda nervous going to this convention and wanted to see if anyone is going to the convention also or has any advice. Thanks in advance to everyone.
