74 on FAR

Failed FAR with a 74, completely devastated as this is my last section. Can’t get over thinking how different things would be if I had scored 1 point higher. Would anyone consider requesting a score review ? I understand it’s not an actual regrading, but I’m desperate and the thought of having to study for a re take is killing me.

Not even worth it. Your score will not be changed.

Take a bit of time off, then get back on the horse and start studying FAR again.

Your other scores are very good. You will pass next time. My first score ever was a 74. Second score was a 72. Third score was a 71. I just tried harder and put more time in.
You will be fine on the retake.

Nope. I had back to back 74's on FAR when it was my last section, one made me lose REG. Score reviews are a waste of money, they'll never change it. Get back on the horse and grind it out.

    It's finally freaking over.

I felt the same way when I took Audit the second time. I felt like I nailed the test. Then on score release date I got a 73. I considered the rescore, but my research showed I had to wait until the first window in the next quarter to submit my rescore request. I realized if the score wasn't changed I was going to have to be studied up so I wouldn't miss a testing window. So I was going to have to study anyway, so figured why bother with the rescore. If I was ready enough to pass it on my second try (The official score was wrong) I should be ready enough to pass it again on the third try if I study. If I wasn't ready enough on my second try (i.e. The score of 73 was correct) then I was going to need the study time anyway.

Frankly I feel everything about the rescore process is designed to discourage you from requesting a rescore..

That being said, you are the one who has to live with the decision. If you can afford the throw away money, go for it. But I would be studying anyway just in case the score isn't changed, which is likely the case

They charge you $100 to review one question, not the whole test. On their website NASBA(or AICPA, don't remember which one) actually state that historically they have never changed a score. I've had a 74 and know exactly how much it hurts. Take a some time off to reboot your brain and go back at it. Good luck!

    BEC – 76
    AUD – 63, 74, 84
    REG – 63, 69, 79
    FAR – 63, 78

Thanks everyone, appreciate the insight. Yeah it seems silly to try it, nothing to do but to get back on it

Just got my 73 for FAR this morning. Get back at it, retest in Jan. Start all over from the beginning. My scores weren't trending anywhere near where they should have been.

I got the dreaded 74 too in REG! It's my first test. So hard to know you came so close. But clearly we are in good company bi had a dream last night I got a 26. At least the 74 shows you were close.
