anyone else think its BS that in Q2 of of 2017 you have to wait 10 weeks after the end of the window to get your score? So if u take on April 1st you wont even know if you passed for 4 months! lol what type of nonsense is this? Also for Q2 3 and 4 there is only 1 score release instead of rolling them out…seems quite unfair to wait that long especially with an 18 month limit…also this is pretty much the end of Q3 so you practicaly miss that window for a retake by the time you actually get your score then NTS then schedule if there are any spots left at prometrics and by that time you would probably have to start all over with the study material and crunch it into 3 weeks lol,,if you have a FAR or REG left to take your doomed! talk about a punch to the gut,,,does the AICPA even care?

Right on Sticky!! That is some BS. Exactly what I thought if I fail FAR in Q1 and retake in April (Q2). I won't be able to retake until Q3 based on the rules but given that new schedule, heck, I prob won't have time to retake in Q3 because of NTS wait etc. My BEC score expires DEC 2017 so the pressure is REAL! I hope I dont have to do FAR the 3rd time or 4th time. Praying every night to pass REG and hope for the best on AUD this Nov. FAR will be HELL for me.

Ughh. I am just now hearing this BS. You can lose out on entire sections of CPA Exam just waiting on your results. So glad I only have REG left. Hopefully I passed because I only have one more testing window before I have to deal with this bullshit.

Will buy Roger if I didnt pass. Completed the other 3 with Becker PDFs but I didnt feel as confident doing that on this exam.

I'm sure the timeline just shows that they don't want the pass rate to jump/fall too drastically with the new format and will need to aggregate the results from the entire window in order to adjust the curve. I would bet that when the exam first went to the current formula a similar tactic was used and eventually they were able to perfect the formula and speed things up.

That said, I'm glad I'm done and would suggest giving it everything you have to finish before April. Like Roger says “If you study you will pass”, Good Luck!!

    B - 88 (2/16)
    A - 84 (4/16)
    R - 73 (6/16), 82(7/16)
    F - 67 (1/16), 84(4/16)

    Ethics - 93

I was rather irritated when I found out about this as well. I took FAR 10/4 and my plan was to take BEC in December, REG in February, and suck it up for AUD and take it in April with the new exam. Now I'm wondering whether I try to squeeze them all in before April? I'm a slow studier and always have been so I'm afraid doing that puts me at risk to fail both REG and AUD and then I'm stuck taking them both after the changes!! It's not even the changes so much that I'm worried about…it's the score release timeline. A raise and bonus probably come my way once I'm licensed and this is potentially pushing it back 4+ months!!! I still have to figure out the best thing to do, but I'm totally frustrated about this 😒

Yup this is stressing me out! My REG credit expires Aug 31, 2017 and I still have 3 exams left. If I have to retake BEC next quarter, and take FAR in Q1 and Aud in Q2 (based on my track record I am assuming I'll have to retake FAR in Q2), I will have to wait 3-4 months and risk losing REG.

With the new changes, I wish those in interim who already have credit for exams and have to take exams in Q2 could get a 10 week extension. Seems fair to me.

    REG: 69, 73, 80!
    FAR: 62
    BEC: TBD
    AUD: TBD

ive heard they were thinking of upping the 18 months to 24 months and letting candidates take sections in the same failing window,,,but the latter cant happen yet because score release for the entire 2017 year will be after the window,,just one release day,,,im hoping enough people will complain and they bump it up to 24 months,,seems a little ridiculous and unfair for the people losing credit and also everyone else losing the Q3 window for retakes

@StickyNicky I can handle that then. I would be more comfortable with a 24 month window. I guess it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Yes, they should up the expiration. Or at least they should find a good starting point to implement. I agree losing one window to retake will totally suck
