InactiveSo, I am doing the pay as you go plan with yaeger, they were great for FAR, but I just finished AUD second attempt, and while i understand everyone learns differently, yaeger for AUD was horrible. Dry lectures reading from the book that I could have done myself and save several hundred bucks…
Anywho wondering if anyone has any experience with yaeger for REG, because if it is the same, then I may switch to Becker…
Any info will be greatly appreciated.

MemberI just completed Yaeger for REG, and I personally love the Yaeger lectures, but based on your review of the AUD section you are probably not going to like REG. FAR I felt like they did a much better job of going into detail and elaborating on the material, which for me was a bit over the top. For REG however, similar to AUD, Phil who teaches it does a lot of reading straight from the book. For me I felt the way AUD and REG were taught was good, because they didn't cover every little thing in the book, they tended to jump around and focus on the areas you really need to know. I did read the book before watching the lectures though, so I was going to get everything in the book on my own, I was just using their lectures to reinforce anything I didn't completely understand and to show me where I really needed to focus.
So the long and short of my answer is, if you didn't like Yaeger for AUD you probably won't like them for REG in my opinion. They have sample lectures you can check out on their website and on Youtube though, which I would highly recommend doing. Another slightly less expensive alternative that will allow you to stick with the Wiley materials you are already used to is Rogers, which in full disclosure I have no experience with, but from his sample videos he seems to teach more in the style of Cindy Simpson from the FAR lectures which you said you liked.
AUD - 2/2013 - Passed!
BEC - 5/2013 - Passed!
FAR - 8/2013 - Passed!
REG - 11/2013 - Passed!

InactiveI agree with jaredo155, if you didn't like Yaeger for AUD, you're going to hate Yaeger for REG. Phil does more reading from the book in REG than Gary does for AUD.

MemberYaeger for REG was horrible for me!! Phil seems so unprepared and tends to be all over the place at times. I liked Yaeger for FAR when Cindy was teaching, but that's about it. Of course everyone learns differently and has different preferences in an instructor, but Phil just did not do it for me I'm sorry to say. I would at least watch the demo before making a purchase!
FAR - 77
AUD - 75
REG - 78
BEC - 83November 15, 2013 at 5:00 pm #469897Jamesk1980

InactiveIt is a personal preference matter, but since I've done Yaeger for 3 sections I'll chime in. I like Phil, he does read from the book sometimes but, sometimes there's no other way to explain something than the way the book says it. He also has a good sense of humor which he throws in every now and then, which helps with dry material.
Subject matter wise, they do a good job of covering the important things. I guess I don't mind the reading from the book like many people tend to — I just care about learning the right stuff. REG is harsh regardless though, I can say that. Don't know if I passed. Obviously with a score of 92, Yaeger did great for me on AUD. And the Wiley Test Bank deserves a lot of credit as well.

InactiveYaeger was great for FAR/BEC when Cindy taught it. I didn't use it for audit — Gary seemed really dull from the FAR lectures, though. I really didn't like Phil for REG and though the lectures were a huge waste of time because he wasn't teaching anything. I prefer Becker for audit and regulation.

InactiveI paid for the entire Yaeger course and as you can see by my signature, I've also bought Roger. I loved Cindy's teaching style so I'll stay with her for BEC. However, I HATED the way Gary taught. I don't need someone to read me the book. The entire time all I could think of was “Bueller, Bueller, anyone…anyone.” I ordered Roger's Cram for AUD and watched it twice. I'm pretty sure I passed – will know this week. 🙂
Needless to say, I tried to watch Phil. My husband said he sounds like Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon 2 and his many “alright”s bug me. I couldn't do it so I ordered Roger's full REG course. Yes, I've put down a boatload. Could have bought an iPad or 2…. I've finished watching Roger and love him. What I like about him is that you get his book which is basically cliff notes, the Wiley book, and the WTB. My only concern is that he is not as in depth as Phil is so I'm watching some of Phil's videos.
Make sure you have Ninja notes, audio or Blitz. Jeff does a great job explaining the overall concepts and I found it reassures what I know.

ParticipantI've used Yaeger for all my exams and to me REG seemed like the best lectures. Phil does a better job of keeping your attention than Cindy or Gary, in part (or in total) because of his accent. I agree Yaeger's AUD lectures were dry, but in their defense, audit is just plain boring.
REG - 89
FAR - 84
AUD - 73, 86
