[CPA = Continuous Pain & Agony]

I sat for REG this afternoon, my last section. I’m using Becker self-study and the 2012 book and software (book has ZERO ancillary material with the added chapter 8). I scored 70% on the first practice exam and 74% on the second. I was consistently scoring in the high 80’s on progress tests.

I’m curious if anyone else has had the same experience as what I’m about to describe, and if so, did you pass? Everyone else feel free to comment.

1st Testlet (27 min):

100% sure I got 17 correct, for the other 7 I narrowed down to 2 answers.

2nd Testlet (29 min) harder than 1st testlet:

100% sure I got 16 correct, for the other 8 I narrowed down to 2 answers.

3rd Testlet (33 min) holy crap this was the hardest testlet I have ever seen!

100% sure I got 9 correct, for the other 15 I narrowed down to 2 answers.

Sim 1 – 70% correct

Sim 2 – 70% correct

Sim 3 – 100% correct (Research)

Sim 4 – 10% correct (Had to be pre-test, had nothing to do with Tax or B-Law)

Sim 5 – 70% correct

Sim 6 – 20% correct

After answering, reviewing, and looking up what I could in the authoritative literature, I had 5 minutes left.

Anyone have a similar experience and pass?

When I took REG last window, here is how I felt walking out of the exam….

Testlet 1- 20 correct.

Testlet 2- 18 correct

Testlet 3- 18 correct

Sim# 1- 20% correct

Sim# 2- 20% correct

Sim# 3- 30% correct

Sim# 4- 70% correct

Sim# 5- 50% correct

Research Sim- 100% correct (looked this up at home after the exam. I know for sure I got this one right)

My actual score= 74

Go figure!

Actually that's how i felt on my reg. i think you did fine.

Aud: 84
Far: 81
Bec: 83

No more long nights...well due to studying for this test...

Is this thread for real? Why are you wasting time counting what you think you have right or wrong? Just answer the questions leave the exam and don't worry because what's done is done.

Well I hope you passed. I'm taking REG tomorrow and made mid-80s on the two practice exams. I really don't know what else I can do to prepare

@CPA- If you look at my previous post and do the math, my percentage score comes out to 66%. Since I got a 74, then there probably was an 8 point curve.

So, let's assume there's an 8 point curve of your exam and let's apply to the results you posted.

MCQs- 57 out of 72 correct. I'll assume that you got half of those other ones correct since you narrowed them down to 2 answers.That's 79%. Convert that to 47 out of 60, which is the # of points MCQs are worth.

Sims- About 3.4 out of 6. That's 57%. Convert that to 23 out of 40, which is the # of points Sims are worth.

47+23= 70. Add an 8 point curve to that…. your predicted score is 78.

lol CPAMan, that's brutal. He did say he narrowed the other MCQ to 50/50 guess. Give him a few points for that.

I kind of agree with @JB on this one. Just sit back and let the score come. Going through the process of trying to “calculate” your score is useless.
