Took last exam and I'm miserable

I took REG (my last exam) on Nov 23. I had previously made a 65 studying with Becker. Switched to Yaeger and felt good about the material before I went in. The exam is a blur. I remember answering each question as it came and didn’t mark anyting for review. I did go back to one question that was giving me problems but other than that I kept on pushing through. I can’t tell you if they got harder. I did feel like they weren’t particularly easy though. I had about 1 hr and 15 mins for the sims. First sim was longer than the second. I feel better about the WC on the first and the tabs on the second. I finished the test with a minute to spare.

Now, I am miserable because I feel like I porbably didn’t pass. I can’t explain why, just a feeling. I feel the worst about this test than I did for any of the others, FAR included. First time I took REG, I thought I passed with flying colors and got the 65, lol. WRONG, lol.

I do feel Yaeger prepared me and I feel like I studied all I could study. I just think I let the pressure get to me and I maybe didn’t read the questions well enough. Now I am doing some progress tests on the Becker software. Decided it would be a good gauge since I haven’t used this software since August. I’m making 90s and above. I should feel better, right? I’m still a wreck. It’s going to be a long wait. πŸ™

Just had a talk with a friend that passed the exam a year or so ago. She reminded me that I have to let it go. I felt prepared going in and I studied all I could. Now there's nothing I can do. Doing questions and studying now won't change the outcome and will only make me tired and discouraged. My fear is that I will get my grade and wish I had not let these weeks go without studying. I've thought about buying the 2011 Wiley book too. Crazy, I know.

I've found that there are life lessons I've learned this past year and I think this is one of them. Letting go. If I have to retake it, I will. Hopefully, I won't have to. This may be my biggest test because I'm not good with sitting back and not having control. I like to be actively working towards something if I have a goal. During prior grade releases, I was studying for some other section.

I am promising myself I will allow myself time to relax and have fun these next few weeks. I'm going to try and not think about my test as much as possible. Have some faith and leave room for a Christmas miracle or two, maybe πŸ™‚

Good luck to everyone! Hoping this is a very special Christmas for us all. πŸ™‚

I know exactly how you feel. I know I failed FAR and need to keep studying. Tax season is coming up and I will lose REG in February. I am supposed to take BEC Tuesday and I have studied 25 minutes!

It's so overwhelming but there is nothing we can do about our score. Wish we could know now. It would save a lot of stress and Alka Seltzer.

I thought I failed REG too. It's just one of those you never know until you get your score.

Let's just keep each other going through the misery. This time next month we will have some peace on earth and in our minds.

You just took what could be your last CPA exam ever. You should feel good, not miserable. If you passed, you're done. If you failed, then you start studying after you get your score.

Nobody knows that they failed for sure until they see failing score results. You may surprise yourself.

@CPAWannaBe – I'm here for you πŸ™‚ I didn't realize BEC was so soon. For some reason I thought it was next quarter. Okay, here's how you look at it. Just think, if you passed FAR, BEC is your LAST test! You have to put in any and all effort you can. I know it's hard, but you have to. πŸ™‚

Even if you didn't pass it, you still want to try and get pass BEC so you can save January for FAR (even though you likely passed already). You can do it. Push through these last few days πŸ™‚

@whitesoxfan – I've been able to stay pretty positive this past year. Think it all just got to me this time. I know the worse you feel, the better you probably did. Heck, I felt great the first time and made a 65, lol. Thanks for the reminder. You are right. I don't know I fail. I don't know that at all. πŸ™‚

Worry is useless. Let the AICPA do their job.

Enjoy the holidays. Do the questions on CPA Review for Free just to keep all of that information fresh in your mind, but do not push it.

I just knew that I failed REG because I only studied tax with Yaeger, and I did NOT study business law! However, I passed REG with no sweat.

@cpagirl…i have an icon that says Becker Simulations. It's been so long since I downloaded everything, I can't tell you if it's on a separate disc or not.

Hmmm. I don't have that icon in my 2008 software. I am taking my last section tomorrow and would like to just have this all done with…REG. Saved the worst for last. I don't do a lot of tax and the law is exhausting. Guess the anxiety is getting to me and I thought I could use the extra practive in the simulations, but oh well. Thanks though.

I have the 2010 software so maybe it's a bit different. Good luck tomorrow. πŸ™‚

I took REG last Monday and you described my experience to a “T”. My younger brother was in an accident and suffered a stroke the week before I took the test and between dealing with him in the ICU, being crazy busy with work/kids and the impending holidays, I was out of sorts and the exam kicked my arse. I feel like I could have bombed this one, which feels AWFUL because I am so ready to have my life back, but there's nothing left for me to do at this point except pray.

I found out that I got a BIG promotion the day after I took the exam and then watched my Auburn Tigers beat Bama last Friday, so that certainly helped the post-exam funk, but I won't lie and say that the wait over the next 3-4 weeks is going to be easy…

@AU1222 – It's amazing you managed to take the test with all that going on. You are my hero πŸ™‚

I'm hoping the best for the both of us. You have amazing scores on your other sections.

@LSU_BR, good luck to you, too! This last one seems to be the worst because we are so.freaking.close to the finish line. Plus, REG is just brutal. It's almost as much information to digest as FAR, but significantly more random, IMO.

I took REG on 11/20 and freaking out as well. Waiting for the score is not easy.

We will be all waiting here starting 12/20

    BEC - May 8, 2010 - 83
    FAR - July 20, 2010 - 75
    AUD - Aug 27, 2010 - 76
    REG - Nov 20, 2010 - 88 ALL DONE!!!
