Tips for allocating REG study time between Tax and Law?

I’ve completed my first run through the Becker REG course (all lectures/HW/sims). I’m trying to determine how to study from here on out. I have 4 weeks to get ready for my test. According to Becker, law is only 17-21% of the exam, despite their own course having way more lectures/MCQ for the law topics. I feel equally comfortable about both tax and law. From searching on here, the general consensus is that tax is indeed more heavily tested. Would you say a 2:1 (Tax/Law) ratio is about right? Spend twice as much time studying tax over law? What I plan on doing from here on out is all of the MCQ 3-5 more times (also have Wiley), while also doing NINJA notes/audio.

I’ve passed all 3 other sections, but never had to study any sections more than the other – I studied everything equally, so this is strange to me. Maybe I should just keep doing that and study tax and law equally?

Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

I would say study your weak areas overall, then devote a little more of your time to tax than business law. I know when I took REG the first time (72) I scored weaker in BLaw and sims, so don't discount its importance. I have Becker 6 and 7 left to do and am taking REG on 11/13. Best of luck to you!

    REG 72, 86 and DONE!!!
    BEC 80 πŸ™‚
    FAR 72, 78 πŸ™‚
    AUD 73, 76 πŸ™‚

I spent twice as much time reviewing for tax as I did for law.

I rewatched all the tax lectures, and didn't rewatch any of the b-law ones. (I know most people think rewatching lectures is a waste of time, but that's how I learn). I spent about a week reviewing b-law and two weeks reviewing tax. I did do ALL of the problems twice, though, and did a ton of progress tests. I did my review for b-law first and my tax review second, so the tax material would be fresher in my mind.

I also urge you not to blow off the ethics/ proceedures/ responsibility section. It's worth another 15-20% if I remember correctly. It's easy to just say “oh, I know that stuff” and then be unprepared if they ask some detailed question.

    REG- 53, 91
    BEC- 88
    FAR- 62, 85
    AUD- 85

    Ethics- 93
