hope – don't worry about how long it is taking you to get through the material. Just focus on whether or not you understand what you are reading.

I agree with Kricket. Try not to worry about time. Some people absorb stuff like sponges, and some (like me) are kind of dense.

I'm currently mired in preparation for REG, and am finding it to be tricky, too. If you have limited exposure to taxes (like me), starting REG can be sluggish. It feels like trying to take off a plan loaded with tons of lead. After that first month, though, it's finally starting to really click and sink in. So just be persistent, and eventually things will start to roll a little easier.

    Good luck!

I absorb stuff like a sponge, words of my old manager, and It's taking me a year to study for reg, but I really didn't know what an adjusted basis was till I started studying a year ago off and on…Now I've been serious….IF you know what an adjusted basis is, give yourself three months….maybe four for this beast, if it's a week area or you don't work in taxes…

If not, it could be potentially easy, assuming you master business law – for me that's easy…I had that in college, and I have a strong classical background, so English, and language are a cinch….but man, it took me forever to get around taxes….and get a good bird's eye view of the material….before that it felt like I was in a maze.
