My Reg Exam is on July 15th. I am currently reviewing and am up to R4. I am behind. My BEC online class also begins on July 15th. What is the most optimal solution?

Study like crazy for REG. I don't see what the online class starting has to do with it? You don't need to do any prep to start the online class.

Were you thinking of postponing REG?

Not sure what up to R4 means since I don't use Becker. But being this close forget lectures forget note taking. Do multiple choice questions and ALOT of them. At this stage I would do sets of about 20 questions for each topic. Doing over more tax questions as they are more heavily tested.

Whenever you get an answer wrong, write the answer or flag it and at the end of the 20 questions go and review all the flagged questions to re-emphasise the concept. Rinse & repeat.

Depending on how behind you are you may not do so well on the first few sets of questions, but just keep flagging and questions and reviewing wrong answers as you go through them you will get better and more frequently tested concepts will keep popping up that will help you on Monday.

    Good luck!

My test is on Monday. I am on review week and am only finishing up the tax portion of Reg. Have not reviewed the blaw portion yet. I found that as I redo the hwk questions, I on average score 10% higher than I did compared to my first go. Usually from 60% to 70%. Except I just finished partnerships today and scored a 62% which is close to what I scored at first. I find that my review week is more of a relearn week, since I forgot everything I did a couple of weeks back. I started studying REG on June 1st. Sighs…Im going to fail for sure, so unprepared

If you haven't even started any of this business law material and don't have an excellent grasp of the tax material you may want to strongly consider pushing back your exam. Also, why move onto BEC or REG even instead of trying to improve your AUD or FAR score?

In a week (approx) you can learn a LOT if you stick your nose to the grindstone and don't let up. Are you working, too? If not, then you should be able to pass this, but you'll have to do nothing besides study for the next week. Doesn't matter how much it'd be fun to do xyz, or how badly you want a break, it's going to take blood, sweat, and tears at this point! If you're working full-time, then it'd be really hard to still pull off a pass…but you have an entire weekend, which should be able to be 20+ hours of study time, if you really push it.

If I remember right, the money for the exam is already forfeit, right? (Or do you still have a couple days to reschedule…?) Given that you have to start BEC on the 15th, and it's so close, you're probably best to give REG everything you've got and swear to yourself to not let yourself get in this position with BEC.

But…I've always been the type to “just do it” and hope it comes out…so might want to take what I say with a grain of salt. 😉 I'm taking FAR on the 17th, so in the same final prep stage!

I'm not using Becker, but personally I would say to screw the online class that you are following and do this complete self-study. You still have access to the videos if you don't do the online videos when they have them, right? Do it complete self-study, and pace yourself better. It seems like you need more time than what Becker online class is giving you. And if you have time left on your NTS and still feel unprepared by Saturday evening, I'd definitely consider rescheduling the exam. The fee to reschedule the exam is much less than paying for the exam again because of a failure. And before you move on to BEC, I would def try to get better scores on the failures you already have.

Today I have reschuled my BEC online class to start in March. I do not want to study a new section when I did not pass any sections yet. For now I will take REG on monday, then jump into FAR and take it at the end on august. My new strategy is take far and reg after another til i pass both of them. then move on to audit and bec.
