Sooo…. I’m using Becker, but have also added Wiley’s test bank to my studying to prep for REG. Becker says the first $2400 of Unemployment is non-taxable, Wiley says it’s all taxable. I looked it up on irs.gov, and the first $2400 being non-taxable is part of the Recovery Act and it looks like it’s just for 2009 (for now).

So in taking the exam – which one do I use???

I'd go with Becker on this and consider the first $2400 non-taxable because you'll be tested on 2009 rules.

    BEC - 10/18/2010 - 79
    FAR - 10/28/2010 - 82
    AUD - 11/04/2010 - 73; 02/18/2011 - 86 - IT'S OVER!!!!!!
    REG - 11/21/2010 - 83
