Any tips on mastering basis calculations? I’ve been doing a ton of MCQs but still doesn’t come intuitively for me.

I would try to do SIMs for the basis calcs. Since basis calcs are more complex, I found it really helpful having to answer each step of the calculation in SIMs (and being able to review why I got certain steps wrong), rather than just one part of the calculation like MCQ.

Basis rules seem to make sense if you think about the goal of why a loss may be disallowed or why a different basis is used, etc.

I don't have any tips except for MCQ repetition and pattern recognition. I've tried corroborating with Roger videos and also researching on google and other authoritative literature as well in the past which seemed to help.

This area has gotten my very confused/frustrated. Go on youtube, there are some videos that do a decent job of explaining this. Then I would suggest doing SIMs. I have been using sim #73 on Ninja. Did it about 5 times already and I'm finally getting it. Good luck
