Taking test in last day of window – Score Release Question

I have noticed that some people who took their test on Feb. 28th are just now receiving their scores. I thought if you were in the last few days of the window that the scores were released 6 business days after the close of the window. I have REG schedules for May 30th. Does this mean instead of receive it in early June, I won’t receive it until August?

    Thanks!

The testing window and correlating release dates are based on when the AICPA receives your exam from the Prometric center, not when you take it. That is why they may be just now be receiving them.

    F - 85 (10/12)
    A - 72, 71, 75 (4/13) (Ninja 10-Point Combo, didn't need all 10 points!)
    R - 84 (1/13)
    B - 75 (2/13)
    CPAExcel 100%

    Illinois CPA (1/14)

So I can take this test in Q2, but still won't know my score until Q3 release dates? Why wouldn't I receive the scores in the month of June? The AICPA site says 6 business days after the window (or 6 business days after all scores received.) Does anyone else know the answer to my question?

    Thanks!

Example: The whole Q2 is divided into 3 section based on regular days. Scores are released in 3 waves based on those sections. If you take a test on the last day of one of the sections, whether you receive your score with the corresponding score release depends on the following (say you take the test on the last day of what they consider wave 2):

prometric transmits your scores on that same day = you should get your score with wave 2 scores

prometric transmits your scores the next day = probably getting your score with wave 3

wave 3 is different because it's the close of the testing window so you'd get your scores with all of wave 3

    does that make sense?

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

So as long as you take the test before the end of the window, you should get your score with everyone else in wave 3?

    F - 86
    R - 90
    A - 97
    B - 91

Yes, sorry I actually misread the OP's post. I have no idea why anyone that tested on FEB 28 (window 1) would not get their scores until now.

As far as I know (and you can look up AICPA and Jeff's score release section) if you test during the last days of wave 3 you should get your scores with the wave 3 folks.

The only exceptions are 1) if they extend the window or 2) if you're an international student. Don't have experience with these though.

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

Yikes, I'm totally losing it right before the test.

The scores released in waves relate to NASBA states only. For NON-NASBA states it could be different so 1) figure out if you're in a NASBA state, 2) search this forum for non-nasba posts and your state website.

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

Maybe I can insert a practical example here… I took my first section (BEC) on the afternoon of November 30th, which was the last day of the last testing window of 2012. Who knows the actual time that the AICPA received my scoring information (if it was that day or the next), but it was basically the last time slot to take the exam (barring any testing window extensions of which I was not aware). I am located in a non-NASBA state, and ended up receiving my score on December 10th. Those candidates who took the test on November 30 and were in a NASBA state most likely received their scores on the Friday before (so December 7).

Hope that helps to shed a little bit of light on the situation…

Similar experience as InterFC1. CA here, non-NASBA state.

I took REG on Aug 31, and I took FAR on Dec 4 (extended window). I received both scores with or just after the 3rd wave, although I don't remember exact dates. In any case, it was less than three weeks after the exam date for both tests.

    REG 95 Aug '12
    FAR 95 Dec '12
    AUD 99 Apr '13
    BEC 94 Jul '13
    CA PETH 94 Oct '13
