I thought I would create this new topic for those that are taking REG in the October/November testing window. I am taking this test on October 19. Anybody have any experience with this section?

I've taken REG twice now and IMO 45 min per sim is the minimum amount of time you want to spend on them. Practice MCQs like crazy and become quick on them because a lot of the SIMS are very confusing and my communications have not been straight forward either. Also, don't spend too much time on the 1st sim because the second one might be harder!

I budgeted 1 hour per SIM and finished with 10 minutes left. I agree with calisteph6: 45 minutes is the absolute minimum.

I got to the Sim's with 1:28 minutes to go. Thought I had plenty of time and ran out on the last tab I was working on! 2 blanks left to fill in! Who knows how I did on the few answers before it ‘cuz the clock clicking down like that mentally throws you off.

WERE THE MULTIPLE CHOICE THAT HARD?

They were a lot more involved than I thought they would be. I had been knocking out the Sims in about 25 – 30 minutes on all of the practice ones I did (Becker, Gleim, Bisk, and the AICPA site) When I got to the sim tabs, I was surprised to see more tabs than any of the practice ones and at least twice as many pieces to answer. 2 of my tabs had no less than 21 blanks to calculate. This was my first test, so I really did not know what to expect, but if it is true that the better you do in the beginning the harder it gets as you go, I must have nailed the first set!
