I thought I would create this new topic for those that are taking REG in the October/November testing window. I am taking this test on October 19. Anybody have any experience with this section?

Is there anyone out there who has passed REG with Becker and can tell me their passing score and what was the average % MC questions you were getting right on Becker before sitting for the exam. Thanks everyone.

CC – I have that same exact question. I'm averaging 65% on the MC using Becker… not sure if that's going to translate into a passing score come exam time…

    ? AUD - 87 (8/12/09)
    ? REG - 77 (1/15/10
    ? BEC - 77 (1/6/09 - Expired) / 79 (11/18/10)
    ? FAR - 75 (2/11/11)

Have you passed other sections using Becker and if so, what was your % you were getting right before you sat for the exam?

CC – I've passed BEC (77) and AUD (87). I was scoring (AVG) around 70% uing Becker MCs for both BEC and AUD (AND THAT'S AFTER DOING ALL SETS 3-4 TIMES). Personally, I find that around 60-75% of the Becker questions tend to be harder than what I saw on the exams. I'm doing worse with my REG questions, so I'm hoping come test, with a little luck, I'll be able to at least narrow down every question to 2 answers… giving me a chance…

    ? AUD - 87 (8/12/09)
    ? REG - 77 (1/15/10
    ? BEC - 77 (1/6/09 - Expired) / 79 (11/18/10)
    ? FAR - 75 (2/11/11)

I think it's important to realize for REG that the questions in Becker are way more intsensive than the actual exam. However, I wouldn't say necessarily easier! I've taken it twice now, and both times I had absolutely limited/next to none commercial paper questions, and TONS of CPA liability/independence questions. I feel like they do a great job of making the questions as vague and possible while providing two answer choices that could work.

I was almost surprised by how many non-calc questions were there. Also, both times I have had multiple ratio questions. I realize that every test is different but I definitely noticed some trends when I retook it…

    BEC 75 - REG 74, 88 - FAR 74,89 - AUD 92

My REG exam is in less than 24 hours… does anyone have any good advice/tips for the next few hours. I've been studying for about a month now and re-reviewed all my B-Law yesterday and am re-reviewing my T-Law right now… I seem to be making stupid mistakes still and it's really frustrating… starting to feel less confident about tomorrow…

    ? AUD - 87 (8/12/09)
    ? REG - 77 (1/15/10
    ? BEC - 77 (1/6/09 - Expired) / 79 (11/18/10)
    ? FAR - 75 (2/11/11)

    TAX: I would focus on:

    1. Partnership tax

    2. Corp (C/S) tax

    3. Indiv. tax

    4. Like-kind exchanges with and without a liability attached

    5. 1231, 1245, 1250

Study the topics Jeff mentioned. If a topic in one of those areas creates a lot of stress just focus on the basics. If you can nail down some more of the complex issue, that's great. Just make sure you understand all the fundamentals. Good luck and let me know how it goes. I take REG on 11/30. Hopefully it's my last exam.

Work a 20 MCQ testlet over a problem topic…read the answers to each problem…work another one. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can gain a decent amount of knowledge…at least enough to get you bye on the exam.

I passed FAR and AUD with no problems using Becker. I absolutely HATED REG and was ready to postpone my exam because I was scoring between 60-70 on the practice exams (I was scoring in the 90's for the other two sections). Since it was too late to postpone, and I couldn't handle more studying anyway, I took the exam. I was really unsure when I walked out, thinking that I most likely scored the dreaded 74. I had a new test date all picked out. I got a 91 – my highest grade so far. Just stay calm and focused. Keep working the problems, but don't let them frustrate you. Getting a problem wrong during a practice exam just makes it more likely that you will remember the right answer on the real exam – where it counts. Good luck.

    One word: WOW.

    Must say, that was hard…

It started out good, I felt like I did fairly well on the first testlet… then I got to the second, and well, it was hard! Then I got to the third testlet and that testlet was not as hard as the second, which really only led me to believe that I must have bombed the second testlet… Jeff, any hope there for MC?

Well, then to add fuel to the fire… I got to the SIMs. THEY WERE TOUGH! One of my communications I couldn'y not even do a great job of pulling out of my behind… some of the calculations well, WOW. Not really sure anymore studying could have prepared me for those SIMs.

Any hope? Should I be worried? If I re-read my post it sounds like I should be… Hope everyone else isn't or wasn't as dissapointed as I was walking out of the testing facility today…
