I work full-time and married so I am sort of limited with the studying hours. I’m not the best strategic test taker so my tactics is too put as much time in studying. I’m currently taking a review course which consists of 130hrs of video lecture and uses Becker.

I put about 3-4 hrs per day. Would prefer taking the exam in the last week of May, but my wife is pushing me to take in the first week of May. So far I’ve put about 40 hours into REG.

Could anyone share their studying experience for REG.

    Thanks in advance.

It all depends if you have any tax experience. I'm in a similar position as you and work full time with a wife and baby. If you're already studying and put in 40 hours so far, you should be ready in May. Some would say that's too much time, but I think you should take the exam when you feel ready and not by other people's standards or review course estimates. I don't know how review courses come up with their numbers because I've studied much more than that and barely pass.

REG is a beast, but it's the only exam I didn't mind studying for. You just have to come up with a gameplan and figure out how you learn best. It's a ton of information and it's almost impossible to remember everything, but you'll start picking things up when you hit the mcq's. Make sure you practice the sims too. I didn't do many my first time and it's the reason I failed. Still not sure I passed when I took it again on Monday, but I felt more comfortable with them this time around.

    Good luck studying!

@re2pect appreciate your advice. It seems you did well on your last exam and I have a feeling that you certainly passed it! Hopefully i will have the same feeling u are having now in May when im done taking my last exam. I agree with that REG is the only exam you didnt mind studying for. But since tax is not my strongside my plan is to go over all the lectures then get into those mcqs and sims as u suggested. Have a good one!
