Studying at night?

I have been studying from 10pm-Midnight during the week for the last couple of weeks. I usually stop at the gym after work, so I don’t get home until around 7 or 8. I have no desire to drown myself in more accounting right after work, so I have been making dinner and dinking around a bit and then hitting the books after adequate nothing time.

I need a least a couple hours where I don’t need to think about anything and that window right when I get home is my favorite time of the day.

I must say, this is pretty nice schedule if you can make it work…. I work 8am-6pm, don’t usually take a lunch and I’m not feeling too burnt out. I also live 5 minutes from my job, so i don’t have to worry about long commutes. The only side effect is that I have been having weird CPA dreams – or nightmares (i’m not quite sure how to classify them… lol)

Anybody else have a similar study schedule?

I have a similar schedule in the fact that I study primarily at night.

I am fortunate enough to have a lovely wife that makes enough money that I can focus on finishing CPA and MBA. I will normally study from 8pm-2am with some goofing off mixed in. I then go to bed and sleep till about Noon. I wake up have “breakfast”, do some things around the house, read, study for MBA class, and get done by 4pm so that I can spend time with my wife before starting the cycle all over again.

I feel bad for everyone else out there because when it comes to awesome wives, mine cannot be beat!

in my views you have to change your schedule because only few hours for the study as well otherwise late night study will put effect on your health as well. so take a guidance from this link https://www.result2012.pk and make your schedule

I had a similar schedule but studied about 6 hours per day on the weekends. I worked 8a-5p, came home and helped my kids with their homework or girl scouts or cheerleading…..then I had to do homework for my Masters' classes from about 9p-10p and would study for the CPA from 10-midnight. Its ok as a schedule for the short term………

My schedule is pretty similar to the others. Have dinner and play with my 19 mo old little girl then as soon as she's asleep, study from about 830 – 1230 and 5 – 6 hours on weekend days.

The late night schedule was kicking my butt but I've started getting used to the feeling.

As mla1169 said above, it's unpleasant but survivable in the short term.

Lord, please give me a ready recollection of the things I have studied. Amen.

Since my last two exams, I have decided to adapt Jeff's ELL plan, waking up an hour early to study, getting an hour in at lunch and two hours at night. Before I would try to get in my 4 hours all at night and it just wasn't working out. For me, it's better to take it in small portions because long marathons will just lead to me getting distracted. If I can sit down and focus for an hour at a time it is much more effective. And thank god it's daylight saving's time soon (practically waking up at the same time I was before, yay!).

This way I can get in my 20 hours if I am good through the week, and even fit in some workouts here and there and actually enjoy dinner. Plus, I don't have to totally dedicate my whole weekend to studying – it is my favorite time of the week, afterall!

    Ya'll are crazy…. 5 hours on weekdays? +20 hours on the weekends? thats 45 hours a week…

Are you only doing 2-3 weeks between exams?

I'm doing Phil Yaegers plan of 15-20 hrs a week for 6 weeks for Reg.

I took it once last november after only 60 hours of studying and got a 60. I am assuming I should be okay for the next exam, since I following his plan this time.
