Do you guys think its better to leave a SIM blank if you have no idea whats going on or guess? Are the answers weighted differently if you got a wrong value vs no input?

Also, what happens if the SIM does not specify if to put zero or leave blank? If it says nothing about putting in a zero are we supposed to infer that we are supposed to leave it blank?

Unless a SIM instructs you to leave a 0 answer blank, you are giving away points by doing that. Some tips I have for SIMS:

1. Leave yourself plenty of time for them. I think many people who have issues with SIMS do so because they didn't leave themselves enough time. I'd rather miss a couple more MCQ's (all except BEC) than have to rush through the SIMS because I didn't have enough time.

2. Read each one twice before you start answering, with the last few sentences first. This really helped me on FAR and AUD because they throw so much info that isn't even relevant to what's being asked. That can also help you figure out what to do regarding zero answers.

3. Familiarize yourself with the AL. If you know how to use the AL, it can really bail you out for SIMS that you are unfamiliar with or draw a blank on.

I think that's great advice. I've given myself ~30 minutes for each MCQ section. That way I have over an hour to tackle 6-7 sims. You can just relax, count to ten or what have you. Then, you can read each SIM twice as you suggested.

Lastly, do not leave anything blank. Zero might wind up being an answer.
