    Hi,

Just curious seems like most people here were “suprised” to the upside (honestly sorry for those that weren’t) but looking at the posts I see alot of just released scores in the mid/high 80s. Now from seeing these ppl’s posts pre test they seemed prepared but just curious. I know I was suprised with my score

I'm surprised I could walk in as unprepared as I was compared to what I should have been and get an 85. That was REG, btw. I did feel like I got kind of lucky with what they asked me, but that's probably random.

    AUD - 88
    FAR - 90
    REG - 85
    BEC - 88

This is just a guess based on no facts but I wonder if “they” looked at last years Q1 pass rate of 41% and thought “ok thats a bit much” be curious to see what it is for this year. Congrats to all that passed

I firmly believe that this board has some of the best of the best. The most motivated people went on the net looking for ways to help themselves pass and stumbled on this site.

So I personally do not believe that this site is actually representative of the total population of candidates, these are the most motivated and therefore successful. If the people here are representative, the pass rate would have to be in the 60's.

Having said that, I felt like I received a juvenile difficulty BEC exam this time, auditing in Q1 was tough but manageable. I wasn't sure if I overstudied (I am a studying champ) or if I just got lucky. Of course, two days before grade release I worried that my exam was so easy because I flubbed it. 😀

“best of the best” You applying for MIB? Sorry just kidding. Maybe but did they become that after arriving to the board Ive seen alot of signatures with multiple fails per section

Absolutely, I became motivated after many failures.

The first set of attempts were on a wing and a prayer and now I am driven. Personally, I found this site as a result of getting serious. Since getting seriuos, I am 2 for 2. Before that…….well……..

Yeah I did notice your signature line although I wasnt refering just to you. Did you really take the exam that many times? Congrats on 2 for 2 recently

    @dprofis

That's just a few hundred people out of thousands. Not surprising at all.

    @katie

You couldn't have pulled off an 80+ without a solid preparation. Maybe you studied less than your norm, but it was still a lot 🙂

Higher scores are because of the Another71 effect. Those who post on this board get higher scores.

It is a scientific fact 🙂

    Dprofis,

Yeppers, I am bona fide….took it that many times. It's like dog years though, didn't feel like that many times.

Keep in mind though that when I took it the first time, you had to take all 4 parts. So even though I didn't study for them, I still had to take them and hope that I scored >50%. So not all of those attempts on REG and FAR were bonafide efforts, they were part of the Audit and BEC attempts.

I would say that all but six were bonafide efforts to pass FAR and REG but there again, I was studying and hoping instead of really actively studying with the intent to pass the exam.

There is more luck in these tests than I think people are willing to admit. Every time I have done so well on simulations, but I always read about how people get simulations they have no clue about. I've never had a simulation where I felt completely lost.

I also think a big part is being a good test taker. A lot of people freak out during the test or think too much. I find it so bizarre people would waste time flagging questions during a test unless you wanted to go back. People come out remembering how many they flagged because they didn't know. I look at one questions at a time and don't think about the previous or next question.

    FAR - 7/25/11 - 79
    AUD - 11/29/11 - 93
    REG - 2/29/12 - 86
    BEC - 4-5/XX/12

Yeah Id definitely agree with the ability to take tests, and confidence level, I guess its the nature of the bulk of ppl on this site, talk about fragility. As far as luck Im not buying it, just not. “but I always read about how people get simulations they have no clue about” do you actually know how much they prepped? What the SIMs were?

I think there's a component of luck to it of course but if youre well prepped, confident and dont melt down at the testing site 9 times out of 10 Id bet you'll pass. Thing is everone's different in terms of “level of prep”, ability to grasp and retain concepts (not just memorize) and abilty to take tests, so luck's an easy out for an explanation but I just dont think so

    Who knows

@Sun – If you are properly prepared for the exam, luck plays no role in your passing score. Luck is only involved if you are less than fully prepared and are praying that you dont get a SIM on the topic you know nothing about.

I think you cannot discount when someone says that they saw questions on topics or areas not covered in the review material . I am speaking from personal experiences , especially on REG , I knew the material from the review material very well and I had one SIM on a topic that was definitely not covered. I spent about 35mins using the research tab trying to understand and then attempt to answer the questions for that SIM. The thing is you do not know which SIM is pretest so I did not want to take the risk of leaving it blank . I agree that your preparation plays a major role though as I was able to do the other SIMS quickly as they covered material I knew well enough to go quickly. There were also mcq's on topics that were not covered , but I think the important thing is not to panic and move on. Keeping calm under pressure is a requirement for these exams.

    BEC 92

    REG 92

    AUD 98

    FAR 86

    All Becker , first attempt.
