That will delay us getting our grades right? Dang it.

I mean living in LA, they deserve what they get. Why should I suffer and have to wait longer?

I’ve suffered through death, a broken molar, a crown that broke, job changes, etc. etc. etc.

If the LA candidates can’t take their test in ankle deep water, they don’t deserve to be CPA’s! Maybe NASBA is afraid someone will write answers on their life preserver rings.

Grrrrr, just something else to have to wait on! 😀

I realize that this was meant as a joke so I'm going to move on from there, but we don't have “hurricane parties to welcome the storm”. I don't know where that idea came from. We typically throw what could be called a “party” after the storm when friends and family come to help clean up. Who ever has the most damage gets taken care of first and they cook and buy the beverages for everyone else. And then we just move to the next person who needs us. Maybe this is not the norm across the state but that's what we do in my little corner of Sportsman's Paradise. We often joke about oncoming storms because sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying. You know that hell is coming and there isn't anything you can do to stop it.

Right now it's starting to rain. We are expecting sustained winds of 40mph tonight and tomorrow and gusts up to 70mph. My house is on the same power grid with the hospital so the power companies always try to keep us up and running. We are on edge waiting. Sometimes you just wish it would hurry up, destroy what it's going to destroy and go away. This is a very slow moving storm, which is not typical. He will probably do as much damage as a storm twice as strong. Thanks for asking!

A great big “Sorry” to everyone if I seem a bit of a bi!ch! I really don't mean to. And y'all thought score release was tense!

Good luck to you and your family Kricket! Living in FL for the past 11 years, I know how stressful any tropical system can be. Be safe.

Hang in there! My friend in Slidell has her girls outside dancing in the rain, so it must be letting up a bit there. Hope you're dancing in the rain tomorrow!

    For Kricket: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_party.

But seriously, the entire post was meant tongue in cheek, obviously I wish no harm on anyone from LA. Just a bit of sarcasm.

Now if it destroyed the LSU stadium (an no one was hurt) that might be a bit funny! 😀

Hey Kricket, did you postpone your exam til next week? We started getting the winds this evening but it hasn't started raining yet. Should start tonight.

@CPAPending – The 1,836 people who died 7 years ago today weren't all having a party.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Katrina

@bnrhilton – We are already getting lovely sideways rain sporadically! The wind has picked up considerably in the last 30 minutes. I'm thinking this is the larger of the feeder bands. It's gonna be a long night. Are y'all flooded in? I saw that the storm surge was worse in Lake Charles than they predicted. I guess because it sat right off the coast for so long. Take Care!

@kricket, where did you see that? As of 5pm when I left work, hadn't seen any storm surge. In fact the river behind my house is several feet below normal because since we are on the left side of the eye we get reverse storm surge.

Why did they extend it for this Hurricane but not last year during Irene??? Last year, lots of Prometric centers in NYC closed for several days and many suffered without any window extension.

They did it in winter 2011 also for the ice / winter storms…I was pissed off when I found out only because I wish I would have known so I could have scheduled my exam a week later

    NEW YORK- DONE
