Hello everyone:

I just starting studying for REG once again after failing it before.
I’m wondering if you all could suggest some re-study methods. Should I start from scratch or just scrub up on the stuff I found difficult?

I’m using Becker, but I am considering buying Ninja MC questions.

I'm studying REG now. Did you cover all the lessons? If I were you, I would practice more questions + sims and scrub up on stuff u found difficult.

Took me 2 attempts to pass REG, got a 74 then a 78. I studied my butt off and I think that the reason I only got a 78 was because Roger's materials were too limited. I think switching materials is an absolute necessity. Do all the questions once, once you start seeing questions a second time the materials are worthless to you because you won't get questions you've seen before on the test.

Of the 3 sections I've taken I think REG requires the most SIM practice. I got a SIM almost exactly like one I did in practice that otherwise I'd have had no shot on and ultimately failed the test again. REG is a lot of material. Put in the work!

@SenseiSkinhead – Yes I covered all the sections but honestly I should of practiced more of the C and S Corp section. I know I have to nail it down this time ! Thanks !

I am still trying to refine my technique of how to pick up on a 2nd or 3rd attempt – I've had so many, ugh. For FAR, I got on board with the NINJA MCQ. I passed with a 78. I used NINJA for my 2nd attempt with REG (Becker otherwise), but didn't pass. Don't let my 59 throw you off, I walked in to that test feeling like I was going to kill it (like a NINJA I guess), and then I got the test from hell. I've never had that awful of an experience before. Anyways, what I'm doing right now is re-writing the Becker outline on the chapters I was super fuzzy on, then doing some random MCQ sets in Becker before putting back a bunch of NINJA MCQ. The NINJA questions are definitely different than Becker and the new bank of questions helps get you out of the Becker rutt. Definitely go NINJA.

I passed REG on third attempt and this is after switching to Gleim. I felt I have memorized NINJA's questions on the first 2 attempts.

Im in your shoes. I suggest you use Ninja MCQ. You should do an assessment before anything. For example you can answer 300-500 questions to identify your weak points. This will give you a starting point to hit the books. After your assessment and studying of weak points, you can start to work more and more mcq. When you do the mcq write down the information and attempt to understand why you got it wrong (what the question is asking, the important parts of the question and answer, etc).

Read each chapter 3 times, each subsequent time as a higher/less intensive review. Do MCQ after reading each chapter, skip chapters 7 and 8 for B-law if youre using becker. 2 days before the test go through each page of the book at a high level review and jot down anything you're still fuzzy about. That way you will minimize your outstanding weaknesses come test day. And then CRUSH.

I would highly recommend getting NINJA MCQs to supplement Becker. I used that combo for every exam except FAR. For retaking REG, I'd say study EVERYTHING again without exhausting too much energy on B-Law. My REG exams had more random/minute details that you either just knew or didn't know. It wasn't really a matter of mastering concepts and application, but more-so random details that you hopefully remembered. But don't spend too much time on any one topic for REG – keep moving and have an idea about everything.
