So I’m about to start studying again for REG. I failed with a 63 on the first attempt. I’m trying to figure out a study plan for the retake, and not sure where to begin. Any suggestions out there?

    Thanks!

    @ChrisCPA,

Hey I want to know what you did to get your AUD 88. Thanks for sharing!

I'm in the same situation. 62 in REG, passed FAR and AUD and think I passed BEC.

Laughingman and cpa001, although I did well in AUD, the same program did not work so well for me. The lectures were missing for various chapters and so many revisions were done. This topic is very different from AUD.

ChrisCPA – I'm not leaving it to Becker as my only review for REG. Currently, i'm practicing with Wiley even before my reschedule to see if this supplement will work.

    AUD - Passed:)
    FAR - Passed:)
    REG - Retake TBD
BEC - Missed by 3 points Retake TBD

Make big copies of the tax forms and post them around where you are studying. Helps to understand the flow of the tax calcualtions.

Practice searching the code on a free site such as Cornell: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/usc_sup_01_26.html

Make up scenarios for “typical” business law questions and make sure you understand them — e.g. a check with multiple endorsements on the back, a contract situation involving maiilng and faxing and the warehouse burning down or the truck blowing up, etc.

Scenarios also help with the tax Qs — e.g. a household with an adopted kid, a blind grandmother in a nursing home, and a college student making $xxxx per year, what are the tax consequences.

I can totally relate to ChrisCPA. As you can see, we both nailed AUD, but can't pass REG. I guess I'm not the only one that finds REG extremely difficult.

SO, here is what I am thinking…

Since the tax part play a major role in the REG exam. So, if we can nailed down the Tax part, and do “OK” in the Law part. Do you think we will have a chance to pass?

    Cheers guys!

Also, since we have the research short question in our REG exam, we should make sure to get that answer correctly. It will increase our chance to pass!

I think research question is the most doable question among other short questions. Spending more time on it and make sure to get it scores!

    What do you think guys?

    Thanks for the advice guys.

CPAman- I find REG so much more difficult than AUD or BEC. The simulations absolutely destroyed me on that exam. I barely covered any of the topics tested, and they were not stressed during the study materials at all. I recently purchased the Wiley Test Bank, so hopefully that helps with the MCQs. My worst nightmare is turning to those sims and not knowing any of them once again!!!
