Hi everyone,

I am preparing to retake reg in January after receiving a score of 73 🙁 Does anyone have any suggestions for how to go about studying? I am using becker and have the 2011 update materials. Is it worth it to go through all of the lectures again or should i just review the material and attack the problems.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated 🙂

I am retaking reg also, failed with a 70. I failed entirely because of the SIM. I am not taking any new notes (at least for business law with is 2/3 of my book… CPAexcel). I am watching the lectures over and re-reading my notes. I haven't figured out a strategy for when I get to tax, but it is probably going to be the same except I am going to write out the equations and blindly memorize the order. I feel when I took the test the first time I could of figured out any MC put in front of me but when the SIM came it was like the carpet was pulled out from under my feet and I feel flat on my face. I passed BEC by blindly memorizing EVERY equation (although there were no sims) I think that is going to be my strategy for reg. Go over law and ethics quickly, hit tax hard and memorize and then a couple days before the test re-read law and ethics and ensure I have every tax question format memorized. The only thing working in my favor is they switched business organization to reg and that is still fresh in my head!

Thanks for the advice FL_hopeful! i had a similar experience…the simulations killed me…they were just too long and i barely finished. i feel like i was and am still good with the tax piece, so ill probaby start with the ethics and law stuff. A big chunk of my exam came from those sections and i wasnt too sure about some of them. i think overall im going to go through my notes again and do as many problems as i can. Hopefully well both pass this thing this next time around 🙂 Good luck!
