Hi everyone. I'm new and I decided to join. I just took Reg yesterday (Saturday). I've been using Becker.
I see a lot of people had a similar experience to mine this testing window. I walked out thinking it could go either way. I did all of the study questions and used the flashcards quite a bit. I used them in areas with a lot of memorization. Also, I did the practice simulations. About 2 years ago, I started studying (using Becker paid for by my old employer PwC) and I only got through Reg before I started traveling a lot and such and didn't finish. My experience then was I studied everything solid except for partnership tax. I breezed through the MC and ended up getting two terrible simulations. I pulled a 72.
This time, I made sure to get through all of the material once and the parts I was struggling with I went back over. I used the flashcards a lot. Anyway, I had a completely different experience. I thought I would be more prepared this time but going through the exam, I was not 100% sure on a lot of questions. There were about 17 that I was really iffy on. For both of the simulations, I would say I got about 1/2 credit for each. I was familiar with the topic but not thoroughly and both were in areas that had less than a page in our books covered by Becker.
I've got Gleim books and for BEC, I'm planning on using both Gleim and Becker. I know a lot of people who used Becker and passed first time. I don't doubt it's possible and prepares you well. However, someone mentioned earlier in this thread that sometimes you get a bad hand. Rather than take these things forever, I'm just going to literally study non stop until the test. When I'm done with the Becker section, it's on to Gleim. When I'm done with Gleim, I'll find something else until my exams.
