BEC is out. Hopefully it is not too much longer for us! Sadly, REG always seems to be last :-/

Thanks good luck to you too! couple more hours and I'll be taking it, I'm pretty excited to take my last exam; I defiantly feel like I've learned a great deal of information during this process to date and am glad I decided to do it.

I took REG on Sunday. Definitely a quarter of the questions were nearly identical to the Becker review questions. I basically went through all the questions on the Becker review at least three times and all the questions on Exam Matrix at least once and a half. You definitely need to focus your MCQ studying on everything between Chs 2 to 4 (Individual, Corporate, Partnership, Ethics). Last time I took REG, I left feeling like I didn't do too well. I ended up with a 70. This time I felt good, so we'll see.

Took the Ethics exam today, had a good time, i dont regret taking the Accounting profession, all the best to those still working on the CPA exams.

Well, I just finished my FAR exam today…tomorrow I will be starting to study for REG.

I actually am looking forward to a change of pace. I am completely burnt out from FAR, but I like doing taxes and am actually semi-interested in learning REG.

@mpofu….I see you took the FAR exam more than once.

I already know that I didn't pass it today. What did you do different to get you over the 75 mark??

    @CPA Valenz

It was a long road , basically i was using Becker for initial reading, Wiley question Bank, and did all the questions from cpareviewforfree.I did not change strategy that much, all i did was to concentrate more on doing the questions on the Wiley qeustion bank and cpareviewforfree , as many times as i can, and at the same time writting notes from what i learnt from the questions, actually i still have the notes, they were so helpful.

Hi guys, I just took Reg yesterday 7/3. It wasn't too bad; I defiantly would not say it was easy but rather it was fair. If I had to compare it, I would say it was similar to FAR but not as hard (still difficult though). I feel like I passed, but there is a lot of gray area (vagueness) on this test, so I just did the best I could. Not sure if my test-lets got harder or not but there was 2 or 3 questions that were super long and difficult, and a few others that were pretty confusing on my third test-let. So We shall wait and see, hoping for the best!!

If I had to rank the exams hardest to easiest, I would rank them as follows:

    1) FAR

    2) BEC

    3) REG

    4) AUDIT

    FAR 81, BEC 75, AUDIT 92 ,Reg 88

I'm taking Reg in two days and I can't believe how unprepared I feel. I am so sick and tired of studying and my brain is shot. I tried taking some practice exams after work tonight and gave up. I just want this to be over with already. Every time I remember something I forget another. Unbelievable!

Can someone pls tell me if this information is correct for 2010-

    – The Section 179 maximum deduction is 250,000 and the cap for purchases is 800,000.

    – After that, you get a bonus depreciation of 50%, and after that you can still deduct your regular MACRS depreciation for the year.

    Thanks!

179 deduction $250,000 reduced dollar for dollar for amount of equipment over $800,000. so if equipment is $950,000 then you get $100,000 of 179. 950-800=150. 250-150=100.

Not sure what the 50% thing your talking about is.

    Hey guys,

I had a questions about the simulation portion of the REG exam. You know how on audit your able to use the research tab to answer some of the simulation questions not related to the written part. How useful is the research tab for this exam to help answer questions not related to the written communitcation part. Any useful tips to prepare for the simulations. Thanks

Wow. Just got done taking Reg and I think I want to cry. I thought Far was bad but this one sure threw me some curve balls…. I guess I didn't study as much as I should have :-(. Have to start studying for my audit exam at the end of August now… although I know I'll be studying for Reg once again.

    FAR: 78 BEC: 79 REG: 86 AUD: 74, 83 DONE!!!
