Prizes are definitely fully taxable. However, they are not taxable if a taxpayer was selected for the prize and subsequently directed those proceeds to a charitable organization or governmental institution 🙂

Thanks for sharing this. I've been meaning to research the taxation on prize winnings…and even if this doesn't delve real deep into the tax code, it does answer my preliminary curiosities. 🙂
