To pass REG, you need to be 100% with all the tax shit. For business law, focus on ethics, CPA liability, etc. Understand the material. Practice the questions. Practice as many SIMS as you can.

thanks for your advice, am using becker 2011/2012 do you think i should use the NINJA notes ??

should i restudy the whole materials or focus on my weak point beside doing the MCQ's + SIM's ??

I just took REG for my 2nd time last Thursday. I didn't study the 1st time cause I was cocky thinking I knew it all because I have a Master's in Tax. Boy was I wrong haha. This time I made sure to do all the MCQ in Becker and learn what they specifically test. All in all I think Becker does a good job with the REG exam….although the practice SIMS are NO WHERE near as difficult as the SIMS on the actual exam. It's like night and day.

Good luck! Hopefully 3rd time is a charm for you (and 2nd time is for me)

My word of advice is to budget an additional 30-40 minutes to use the authoritative literature after completing the SIMS.

This definitely saved me on one of the simulations. I even knew one of them like the back of my hand from studying but looked it up just to be sure.

re-study the material like it's your first time taking it–

do ALL multiple choice (even the optional extra Q's) and all simulations.

i really recommend doing process tests in becker bc it's really easy to forget what you learned as you go through the rest of the chapters.

keep practicing MC and simulations. also pay attention to the questions– you may have misread it or misunderstood it! (for example: one question was about how much gain you get when exchanging property and then i got another question that looked identical so i went back and realized that one question said you GOT the boot where as the other one said you GAVE they boot.)

    you can do it!

    good luck

YES to NINJA notes and the NINJA audio. REG was my beast as well. This last time I took it I finally passed, by doing all the MCQs once and the incorrect ones twice (Wiley testbank) I re-wrote the NINJA notes and supplemented with my own notes from the Wiley book. I went through all the SIMS twice, this is a must. Listen to the NINJA audio whenever you can, when commuting, when cleaning, when cooking, whenever! But don't zombie listen, but actually listen.

I just passed REG. I found that beckers multiple choice were even harder than the ones on the exam and very similar style but 7 beckers sims are the equivalent of 1 actual exam sim = beckers really did not prepare me for the sims. If you have beckers i would redo all the multiple choice and then supplement with something else for the sims.

I just passed REG the second time around. I scored a 63 the first time just using Becker. When I retook it, I used Wiley and NINJA Notes to supplement.

This is how I passed REG:

-NINJA Study Plan–Studied 120 hours for the retake

    -Wiley Test Bank

    -NINJA Notes

    -Becker Final Review

What worked best for me was skipping the lectures. I don't get very much out of them. I chose the 2nd time around to go straight to the book and reread/take notes on every last piece of information. I found the Wiley Sims to be very helpful toward the actual exam. You can do it, just put in the hours and find what study technique works best for you.

I plan on taking Reg some time in Feb. or April depending o how comfortable I feel with its material. I am using becker's online course material along with live classes. I passed BEC and FAR through becker alone. After reading some posts, I don't know what to do for the simulation section in reg. Any advice as to what to do for tackling the reg's simulations section?

    Thanks a million!

Thank you all for your valuable contributions, i guess i will need to do a new plan for studying .. i will buy the ninja notes and work on them .. my weakest point as it appear from my score report is the simulations i agree with “Pellerific” that becker MCQ's are much harder than the actual exam but the simulations are much easier than the actual exams !
