Sorry, no tips here. I am using Becker too and in the second chapter. It is a bit confusing to me. Don't give up. You can do it :o)

This isn't a fun exam. Each person has a section that is their nemesis. Suck it up, and force yourself to study and learn the material. If you do not understand tax, you will not pass.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

Yes. I agree with Gatorbates. I wish I had better news, but this exam was brutal and I don't even know how I scored as well as I did. My test gave me simulations on tax topics I never would've expected, so make sure you memorize as much tax law as you can for those, i.e.don't ignore estate taxes just because it's less common than individual taxation.

Oh! I got replies..i gave up a day after no responses..

I figured no matter the difficulty, i should always be doing something instead of crying about the first chapter..

So, i skipped to business law and so far so good. Hoping i can carry the momentum back to the tax topics..

Got Ninja audio and am always listening to it.. Something useful might stick.

I guess i had it easy with the other papers because there were no strange unfamiliar topics..

i will suck it up! *snff *sniff!

I hated tax law too and it's very daunting as first. But just keep pushing through and it eventually will all click. I thought REG was going to be a lot of trouble for me… but in the end, I passed by a pretty decent margin. The one good thing about tax law is that it's pretty black and white. You just have to memorize a ton of rules. I would suggest making your own notes to help with that.

    FAR 7/3/13 - 82
    BEC 8/21/13 - 82
    AUD 10/2/13 - 92
    REG 12/3/13 - 88

so i thought 45 days would be enough for regulation but nope.. Am changing my exam date.. 45 days seems so short.. Sounds more when i say a month and a half. Too much pressure.
