I am taking REG in Feb, and taking the Becker Live Review course. What is the best method to study for this exam?

I failed with Becker even after listening to lectures 2 times and going through all MCQs along with practice exams. My bad for only using Becker. They missed a lot of potential items and lots on the exam I experienced were not incorporated into their lectures. Much of which I had no idea how to even remotely do. Not a good way to experience an exam.

What I wished I did was use Wiley as a supplement. So will do this next time. I heard that Wiley for REG was really helpful as a supplement and lots of similar MCQs as on the exam experiences. Going to try this.

I can't speak for Becker but if I were in your shoes, I'd recommend bringing a digital voice recorder to record the live lectures and relisten to later (if it's allowed). I used an audio course and listened to all lectured twice. Next, read all the materials highlighting/making notes where necessary. Then, do the practice quizzes. Based on your quiz results, re-read the sections where you're scoring low and make notecards for those topics. Finally, keep doing MCQs and making notes for the weaknesses until you're scoring comfortably in the mid-60's to 70's (at least).

I used this approach with all 4 sections and it worked for me.

    FAR 88 (07/15/11)
    BEC 83 (08/31/11)
    AUD 81 (10/15/11)
    REG 83 (11/26/11)

    Used NIU Correspondence CPA Review

i just started with becker, but i can already tell that the lectures are a great resource but that you need to go back and actually study the material afterwords. there are things that are skipped over in the books because there is not enough time in the lecture to cover that material.

what i have been doing is going to the luve class and watching the lecture there and taking note in the materials. then the next day listening to the lecture and pausing it as a good to make sure i really read and understand the book. after that i take the MC and take notes on what I miss so i can go over those parts again.

i think just listening to the lectures twice would not be enough to understand the material.

    Reg - 2/24/12 passed
    BEC - 4/3/12 passed
    FAR - round 2 7/1/12 passed
    AUD - round 2 11/01/12

    Using Becker, wiley, and NINJA.
