I took Reg yesterday, I felt confident going into the test having spent the past month studying religiously. The muliple choice questions were not that bad, I marked 3-4 for review on each testlet and felt pretty confident on my answers. Then came the sims. Out of the 6, 2 were on topics that were not covered in Becker, the remaining was a research question, the other 2 I am confident I nailed or at the very least got partial credit on. I guess the only solace I can take is that scores will be released in a week. I’m not sure if I should start studying for FAR or just wait until I get the Reg results. Anybody else have a similar experience with Sims and passed?

The second time I took REG, I breezed through the MCQS, but then got the most foreign Sims out there and had to guess my way through them. So, I failed by one point.

The last time I took REG, the MCQs were hard, wordy and dug very deep into the concepts, but the Sims weren't too bad. In fact, there were two topics that I was hoping I get a Sim on and sure enough, I did. So, I was happy there. But of course, due to the MCQs, I have doubts. It's always one or the other. It's either the MCQs or the Sims that will screw you….

i took REG on 2/23 and had a very similar experience as gr8dane. i'm moving forward with FAR, in the event i don't pass REG i will just jump right back into it.

hopefully we all passed, i'd hate to go through those sims again…good luck to you both!!!

@gr8dane- Keep in mind that one Sim is pretest. So only 5 are graded, not 6. Since you said you nailed 2 and assuming you got the Reasearch question right, that's about 3 out of 5 right there. And you possibly might've gotten some partial credit on the other 2. So, you probably didn't do as bad as you think.

There's also the possibility that one of the SIMs he nailed was a pretest right? So I wouldn't say he got 3 out of 5 necessarily. Since a pretest question can help or hurt you, I would include all SIMs in my evaluation of how I did on them.

Most likely, the most obscure Sim tends to be the pretest one.

gr8dane – my REG experience on Sat. was very similar to yours. I freaked out initially when I went through the sims but ended up working my way through them the best I could. I can't see myself getting a 0 on any of them and I do think I possibly did better than 75-80% on 3 or maybe 4 of them. I am trying to be cautiously optimistic but ready for failure at the same time. So we sit and wait…

@gr8dane – I took REG yesterday as well. I am like you, the MCQs were not too bad but I could definitely tell how the exam was adaptive b/c I saw about 7 questions on one particular topic area and I was like DARN IT!!!!! I marked about 4-5 in each testlet for review. I got to the SIMS and I wanted to run out of the testing center!! 2 – I would probably get 85% or more of the points (1 including the research), 3 – of them I would probably get partial (at least 50%), and 1 – I was like what the hell.. LOL. I am hoping we all get the 75+ score on next week.
