    Hey guys,

I’m really struggling with the business law / bankruptcy part of REG. I feel like the issue is that I have no experience with anything of that nature so I find it very hard to reason through any of it, so it becomes straight memorization. Does anyone have any advice that helped the material stick more easily for you?

My only advice is beating down the corresponding MCQs. Sometimes I went through the material I.e. lectures/video and felt great and then got every MCQ wrong. As I learned how the questions were asked and what they were looking for my memorization caught up.

The good news is that it is not a significant part of the exam, only around 10-20% at the most. Yet for some reason, Wiley has dedicates more time to that section that any other section.

Still, don't get too lost in the details. Tax makes up most of the exam. It frustrates me too, as we are not lawyers so business law isn't that useful.

I would not say that Blaw is an insignificant part of the exam. You're 10-20% estimation is true but on my exam I got a lot of Blaw mcq's. 20% is 1 out of every 5 and that seemed about right for the number of mcq's I had concerning Blaw.

Emerged, I would say the trick to remembering bankruptcy is knowing which chapters are voluntary/involuntary, the requirements for who can involuntarily take you into bankruptcy, then memorizing who gets paid first in the order of liquidation. Becker gave a mnemonic for the order of liquidation (although I can't remember it now – SAG WEG CTI, maybe) that helped me a lot. Then maybe try to work a few problems about who gets paid how much in a liquidation under different circumstances. Memorizing the order of liquidation and then working a few problems should help fill in the gaps on how the process works.

Try to get the basic idea of each concept, and go through the MCQs, or just go through the MCQs, and take notes as you go. Anytime I need help with making sure I understand something, I pretend to be a teacher and teach it to myself , out loud, if needed. Whatever works right
