REG Tomorrow – Studied total 0 hours

Give me a chance to explain my situation before you start bashing me and telling me there is no chance of passing. I know this.

My NTS is expiring for AUD and REG on May 5th. I have been actively studying for AUD in preparation for my test on May 5th. On the otherhand I have not studied at all for REG becasue I didn’t want to half-ass my AUD preparation.

My plan is to sit for REG tomorrow with the intent of getting an idea of the test and main topics so I am better prepared for my retake in the summer. I feel it is better to at least sit for the exam and gain experience then it is to let my NTS expire without even attempting the exam. With that being said, I feel as I can’t be the first person who has done this. There have to be other people who have been in the same situation and these are the people I direct this post towards.

What did you do the day before the test? Should I review for REG at all or should I just keep studying for AUD?

Any tips/advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

    FAR - 07/29/2013 76
    BEC - 08/30/2013 83
    AUD - 11/11/2013 71 Retake - 05/10/2014 91
    REG - 04/30/2014 37 Retake - 08/25/2014 87

I see no point in spending any of your time the next few days on REG. Might as well focus on AUD.

    FAR 12/3/14, 87
    AUD 2/3/14, 90
    BEC 4/1/14, 88
    REG 5/27/14, 94

Just go all out for AUD, and if you want to spend a few hours to see what the REG test is like, I don't see why not. You've spent the money already, can't get it back now. And maybe you'll pass with some miracle.

I might be in a similar situation with REG in July. If I fail FAR, I'll have to make that decision…

if you wanted to see how the test looks like you didn't need to spend $200.

Just open AICPA released questions – it will give you an idea

    AUD - 90
    FAR - 83
    BEC - 81
    REG - 80
    ETHICS - 100

I think I agree with Lindrobe. I had a kind of similar situation with AUD. I had many “things” going on in my life and purely forgot I had an AUD retake. When I received my reminder email from Prometric I only had a few days to study and couldn't reschedule since it was the end of my NTS.

Since it was a retake and I wasn't studying for another exam at the time my situation was a little different as I had at least some study time with AUD even though it was several months before, so I listened to the NINJA audio twice through and took the exam……I am waiting on my score, but there is obviously only a 0.0000001% chance I eeked out a 75, but it was a good learning experience since this was my first time taking AUD post-clarification.

In your situtation I think your plan to at least sit the exam is good so that it will help you plan your studies for your retake more efficiently, and if you think there is even a remote possibility you might pass (obviously not likely), then I would listen to the NINJA Audio a few times just to see what sticks…..but if I were you I would just keep on with AUD, and not worry about REG.

If I were in your shoes I would focus and AUD and let your Reg expire. You need every min to prepare on your AUD exam and I don't think it would be good time management for you to basically spend 3 hours on a exam where you have not studied.

Instead those 3 hours can be better spend learning things like Independence or Internal Control in AUD for example.

Instead of spending the 3 hours on driving to and from prometric and the actual testing for REG, spend it on studying for AUD. There is no point in “seeing how REG is”, you will know how it is when u study for it.

    BEC - 84, 4/6/13
    AUD - 77, 5/28/13
    REG - 83, 4/12/14
    FAR - 83, 10/3/13

    Ethics - 90% 4/24/13

    Friday=REG

Weekend=Review, and then on Mon & Tuesday he took the exams.
