    1st testlet => doable

2nd and 3rd testlet => definitely harder than the 1st; not sure how to tell the difficulty level but definitely got into more detail/some wordy questions

sims => most of these were a nightmare; I didn’t study a lot yesterday but even if I did it’s not the stuff I would have covered anyway (for most of these). I took REG on 1/23 the first time and this exam (especially sims) were much more difficult than the first. Research was fine.

No clue if I passed or not.

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

I just got back from taking REG, also. Your description of the sims as a “nightmare” is spot on. There really wasn't anything in any of all the practice materials that was even in the ballpark. I'm stunned and still reeling a bit. It makes me feel better though, knowing that someone else felt they were much more difficult than in past test windows.

I took REG in November and I thought without a doubt I failed.

    First Testlet was hard

    Second Testlet was pretty easy

    Third Testlet was very hard

The sims were an absolute nightmare. Two of my sims were calculating the exact same thing which I had never seen before (covered in 3 sentences in Becker). The rest of the sims were extremely difficult and I basically had to guess on them.

Keep your heads up, I felt the same way when I got back from REG and I ended passing. In my limited experience taking this test, I've felt like I've gotten far less than 75% of the questions correct, but still passed. They may not release how they grade our exams or what questions we got correct/missed because passing tests may only get like 50% of the questions correct.

    BEC - 85
    REG - 77
    AUD - 73, 83
    FAR - 68, 89

Mavs- I finished REG today.. and I am feeling like MAYBE 60% confident for the whole test. There were 3 sims where I am pretty sure I got quite a bit of credit.. 1 I know I had to get full credit- for sure! … I'm just hoping it ends up like you did where you felt not so confident and then passed. 🙂 Hopefully the “curve” is in my favor this first month of testing! haha

    Mavs – hope you're right…

Dave – the way I judged the sims (if there is any way to compare since they were completely different) is that on the first exam I did everything from memory and didn't use the research tab (except for the research question) and got comparable on my report. Most of these were difficult even with using it.

TXCPAGal – sounds like you did awesome!

Anyhow not getting our scores for a while so gotta move on to the next part.ugh..

@txcpagal – Based on your signature it looks like this was your first test, and it sounds like you did pretty well. If you were sure you got one sim correct and a decent amount on three others, I'm sure you did well.

@tina82 – Good point. You can't change anything now, and it is only going to make you it worse by dwelling on it (a lot easier said than done haha).

Tina, I would have used the research tab, but I wasn't really sure what to research… Did it help you? Also, how many of them did you get with the assist of research? (I'm referring to the non-research-based sims.) I think I got one regular sim and the research and then it's pretty much all a loss after that.

It's funny but, I was feeling really good going into the Sims and then I guess they just decided to take the gloves off. Looks like we're roughly on the same schedule as I'm gonna be jumping into BEC now with both feet, too. Good luck! I'm gonna take a couple of days to chill first after three straight months of taxes and b.law.

    AUD – 78

    REG – Took 4/2

    BEC – May/2012

    FAR – TBD

Dave – it helped to make educated guesses on some, on others it didn't. I wouldn't worry about it now since you never know with the scores. If you need help with it later on I can give you some tips.

I guessed on two sims since what I found in research (it was there) didn't help with the question and also I ran out of time. If I had an extra 30 minutes for sims (I spent half time on mcqs and half on sims) I probably could have found some more useful sections/info in the research tab.

The mcqs were hard and they took up a lot of time, I basically took a good guess on whatever I didn't know and cut myself off after 1.5 hrs to have time for sims.

I took my REG on april 13, and just got the scores few days back.

The MCQs were very similar to what I had practiced in Becker homework. the first test-let was medium difficult and the remaining 2 were very hard. However, I believed i had done pretty well and when I finished 3 test-lets i felt really good that I was gonna get good score. But the simulation was a nightmare, 4 out of 6 were from Alternate Minimum Tax, which was not my area, I completely screwed them and spend a lot of time which made me miss my research question. overall I completely screwed my simulation which is 40% of the test. I left the exam center very disappointed, and seriously doubted that i will pass.

But i just got my score few days back and it was 84, wow. I could not believe it.

Therefore, my understanding is- since it is a computer adaptive test, meaning if you keep doing better they will give you harder questions, and they award points accordingly. If you answer more difficult questions correctly then you are most likely to score higher than scoring medium difficult questions correctly. However the simulation part is preassigned and is not Computer adaptive.

Although, I had completely screwed my simulation, my performance on MCQ saved me.

Quick question ckizna, by you saying you missed the research question, did you just put something you thought was right? So there was a chance you gotten it right and helped raise your grade?

Or did you just literally put a bunch of random numbers down and a letter and know you 100% got it wrong?

I missed my research question on my REG exam so i'm pretty worried 🙁
