    What would you do?

During the last exam, I relied solely on Wiley’s MCQ’s and didn’t have time to do any SIMS in Wiley before the exam. I didn’t touch CPAExcel’s questions.

This time through, I restudied everything and rewrote my notes from the CPAExcel’s book. I’m currently doing the CPAExcel mcq’s and SIMS. I just completed business law and ethics yesterday evening and will finish taxation over the weekend. The question is what to do next. I take the test on the 30th and NEED to pass it this time.

The question is whether to continue to focus completely on CPAExcel and go through Wiley as a supplement…. or….. stop CPAExcel after the first run through and focus on Wiley.

Wiley easily got me through two parts but not REG (of course, that could have been as much me as Wiley). I don’t have any experience using CPAExcel (other than briefly for Auditing) so I don’t know how well it prepares you.

Can someone who used CPAExcel give me an opinion?

I used CPAExcel and thought the exam MCQs were a joke compared to CPAExcel's…The SIMS, that's another stoy =]…I would just focus on working as many MCQs and SIMS as possible…

I've figured out that I probably have enough time to go through both.

I'm thinking that I will stick with CPAExcel since I have the software interface to help prepare me again for the look and feel of the exam SIMS (not to mention auto scoring).

I'll go through Wiley's MCQ's once more (taking notes on anything I missed). I had hoped to get through Wiley 2x more at least and CPAExcel 2-3x but doesn't look like that will happen.

Probably have enough time to do CPAExcel 2x and Wiley once more. But I did Wiley 3-4 times last time.

My REG test is Monday. I took today off from work and hung out at Barnes and Noble. I grabbed their 2012 Wiley book and just sat there going through it for anything updated. The 2012 book is a lot easier to read than earlier versions. It covers a little bit then say “now go do questions 1 – 14” and it broke it up into nice little chunks.

Don't read anything else this weekend. Don't even look at road signs! Just browse through your REG books and nothing else!
