I recently finished AUD and FAR and I’m about half way through the REG lectures at the moment and was hoping to get some advice from those of you have either taken REG or are currently studying.
I’ve used different study methods for all 3 exams so far trying to find out what works best for me and it seems to change based on the material. I’m using Becker and also have access to Wiley test bank.
At the moment I’m watching all of the lectures and taking detailed notes in the Becker book (just finished R-5 today). My next step, after I finish watching the lectures, is going to be going back over the notes I took in the book and making my own notes on legal pads to help cement the information.
What I’m trying to decide is whether to make my notes for a section and then to do the related MCQs immediately after or alternatively to take notes on all 8 sections and then to go through the MCQs.
I’m worried that if I make notes and then immediately do the MCQs I won’t get the most out of it because I will have just taken a real in depth look at the material and thus won’t be testing what I really “know” because a lot will just be in my short term memory. At the same time I don’t want to spend all of my time working on my notes and then rush to the finish line with MCQs, which most people say are the most important study tool.
I know with things like this it usually comes down to personal preference, but I’d love to get some peoples’ opinions on what they consider a better method. Thanks
