RE2PECTParticipant@aatoural- I just went on and was able to pay for it. Hopefully I'll get my new NTS in a couple days.
@Michael- I took BEC on 10/3 and had to wait almost 6 weeks for my score. No way I can handle that kind of wait for my last exam lol.

JMGParticipantRE: studying BLaw
I wasn't retaining anything from reading the book so I just started working MCQs and then going back to the book to review. Getting questions wrong and then reading the explanations really fired it home for me. I hated negotiable instruments with a passion. It's a lot of boooooring material to get through, so at least working the MCQs keeps you active.

alialzoubiParticipantA person wants to start a corp.she has 2 plans
Plan A: Contribute cash 300,000 (or 800,000 I forgot)
Plan B : Contribute 200,000 and loan the corporation 480,000
The company is expected to have 200,000 in income this year each year the company is to pay 100,000 to the only partner
in the case of plan A:the 100,000 is considered to be divideds
in the case of Plan B:
The 100,000 are divided into 70,000 loan repayment (including interest) and 30,000 dividend

RE2PECTParticipantThe link blocked out my post so I'll post this again.
Not sure how this is even possible, but I got a 68 on REG. This is after putting all 0’s in the sims and not even answering the research question! I give up on trying to figure out how this thing is graded lol. If any of you thought you bombed it, but at least did the sims, you still have a very good chance at passing.

AnonymousInactiveHi all,
I'm sitting for REG again in January. I sat for it in November and got a 65. That means I need to improve my performance by 16%. This time around, I feel like the concepts are really sinking in and I believe that I will pass REG in January! It has taken me much longer than I had originally planned. I planned that I would sit and pass after 6 weeks and it has been 6 months! I learned a few things from this experience though and I am happy to have made the investment. What I learned about myself is so valuable and will benefit me ten-fold moving forward. After I pass REG in January I will begin to study for FAR and will create a much better study system for myself. Here we go!

NamstutParticipantJust came back from my REG.
I used Becker and I feel like Becker did a good job covering everything, I just didn't do a good job studying everything. The sections that I skimmed through or skipped showed up on my exam. SIMs weren't horrible, nothing unexpected but I didn't do well because most of the SIMs were in the area I wasn't fully prepared in.
Long story short, when I got to my 3rd testlet I knew I was screwed because I didn't know the answers to more than 50%! The questions were on familiar topics, I just didn't study them well enough. I guessed on some but went back and changed 3 of them (please shoot me, the original answers were correct!!)
After the 3rd testlet I only had 30 minutes to finish my SIMs.
ADVISE: when using the research tab utilize the Advance Search function of the Authoritative Literature tab. “Containing these words near each other” and “containing all of these words” worked the best when I studied and I was able to find the answer on the exam right away.
Anyway, I am already mentally prepared to retake it in January. But this sucks because I don't think I will have enough time to prepare for REG by 3/10/17.

HoosierCPAParticipant@namstut honestly it doesn't sound that bad. The MCQ's got progressively harder which is always a good sign. You were short on time on the sims but you make it sound like they weren't terrible. I wouldn't rule out passing–I think you have a good shot!
Now you have me sifting through all the b-law topics that I've been neglecting! At this point I don't know how many points I can gain–I don't want to stress myself out over every post I hear of peoples experience–but that's easier said then done!

NamstutParticipant@dtatham10, the testlets didn't get harder, I just didn't know the answers. I literally recognized all of the questions, I just didn't study that section! Oh well, hopefully we won't see YOU around after the 16th! Good luck to you tomorrow, it was a pleasure studying with you. 😉
I can’t edit my earlier post anymore, but it should say prepare for FAR by 3/10 not REG.

Claudia408ParticipantSomeone please help. Biz law is just terrible!! Really confused by this question… Samm violated state, and performed according to the contract yet is suing and is able to get money!? wtf? what am i missing here?
Samm, a plumber, entered into a contract for $75,000 with Orr, Inc. to perform certain plumbing services in a building owned by Orr. After Samm had satisfactorily performed the work, Orr discovered that Samm had violated the state licensing statute by failing to obtain a plumbing license. The licensing statute was enacted merely to raise revenue for the state. An independent appraisal of Samm’s work indicated the building’s fair market value increased by $70,000 as a result of Samm’s work. The cost of the materials which Samm supplied was $35,000. If Samm sues Orr, Samm will be entitled to recover:
Answer: $75,000
