ParticipantI agree–take REG. It'll essentially be like you're in the review stage of your studying for a month. I had a similar situation with AUD where I failed and went right back at it…I was able to pickup 16 points (64 to an 80).

ParticipantI know this is a long shot…but I've been reading up on various REG threads and people seem to rave on Gleim SIMS for REG. Is there anyway to get your hands on these sims without paying full price? I'm stressing big time on these sims and at the moment I only have Ninja sims to study which are so easy there is no way I'm getting much from it.

Participant@dtatham10 the debtor does not need to be insolvent to file for bankruptcy, a voluntary petition can be filed by anyone who owes debts, however, he/she must satisfy income test for the bankruptcy case and if he/she has too much income the case will be dismissed.
A Fraudulent Transfer specifically applies to insolvent debtors.

ParticipantHello Guys,
I have an exam on Dec 9 and also looking for Gleim sims for REG… If somebody has it… 🙁November 29, 2016 at 7:56 am #1329534RE2PECT
Participant@dtatham10- Not trying to scare you, but I took REG this past Saturday and literally walked out in disgust during the sims. I had no clue how to answer any of them and the sad thing is, they were on topics I was pretty familiar with. I couldn't even find the research question, which I found within 2 minutes for AUD & FAR. Ninja's sims are nothing like the one's on the exam so it's pointless to even practice them. You can put 0's in for everything and still get half of them correct. That's actually what I did for my exam because I literally had no clue what to do for them. They set them up in such a way that it's more like they're trying to confuse you than actually see if you know the topic.
I know for a fact I failed and bought the Gleim test bank the other day since it was on sale. They used to sell a package with just the sims, but now you have to buy them with the mcq's. I haven't tried it out yet because I needed a couple days to regroup. From what I've heard from other people on here, the mcq's are crazy long and much more in depth than the actual exam, but the sims are similar to what you'll see on the exam. One thing I noticed just from browsing through the software is that you're only allowed 3 attempts at each sim. Seems kind of odd to me considering more than half of us will be needing to take it again.
I will say that I only tried maybe 30 sims between Ninja and Roger. I knew I needed more time to study, but my NTS was expiring and couldn't push it back any further. Do not neglect the sims for REG! They're not like FAR or AUD where you have a drop down menu and can try and guess the answer.

Participant@Re2pect I'm well aware of how hard they are which is why I'm taking this exam for the 4th time! haha. I had becker which were decent but now it's expired :/ and now I only have Ninja which is great for the MCQ's but lacking with challenging SIMS. At this point I'm just goign to pull up tax forms that I think have a high probability of being on there and go box for box and figure out what goes into each line. I'm kind of at a loss for how else to approach this. I'm not paying 1k for just the Gleim sims!

Participant@RE2PECT my exam is on the 9th and now I am officially freaking out!
Can someone who sat for REG (and didn't pass) using Becker material please chime in? There are a ton of SIMs, I can't imagine they are not even remotely close to what's going to be on the exam.
Are the SIMs anything like on the AICPA sample test?

Participantdtatham10- You can just purchase the test bank separate from the full course. It's normally $250, but they had a cyber Monday sale and got it for $212. I think the sale ends today if you're still interested. It comes with the book too, but not sure I'll end up using it. At this point I'll do anything to be done with these exams! lol. I was just so blindsided by these sims I couldn't believe it. I felt pretty good after the mcq's and then just had the life sucked out of me when I got to them. Studying the tax forms wouldn't have helped out very much for mine.
@Namstut- Sorry, I'm not trying to scare anyone lol. I don't use Becker so I'm not sure how their sims relate to the exam. You still have plenty of time to practice them. Now is a good time to hammer them because they'll test your overall knowledge on each topic. I did the sample test a couple days before my exam and those sims were much easier than the ones I had.

Participant@Re2spect screw it–I am going to bite the bullet and get it. At the very least I will have peace of mind knowing I prepared myself as best I could coming into the exam. How many are they? I wonder if its possible to work through most of them in 10 days (roughly 6 hours a day).

ParticipantThere are 20 subunits and I believe there's 5-6 sims for each one. I don't think they let you practice one at a time. You have to do all the sims for each section and in a certain time frame to mimic the actual exam. Hopefully someone who has used Gleim will chime in because I haven't tried it out yet.

ParticipantUGH I am feeling so TAXED right now from all this studying (pun definitely intended). Test is this Saturday and I'm working on my comprehensive review right now. Reviewed individual taxation and have almost finished reviewing corporate taxes. Can't wait for this all to be over and I definitely don't want to see anything related to taxes for the next few months or so (until I prep my own tax return LOL). Hope everyone's studying is going great and good luck to those of you testing soon!

Participant@lonelyronpaul Good luck! Keep grinding out questions!
@Re2pect I've made it through the first 2 sims and they seem to be pretty solid. Format is exactly the same as the exam and they are much trickier then Ninja. For example Securities Act of 1933 or 1934 I thought I had a solid understanding of–whomp whomp–reality check haha!FAR - 78
