HoosierCPAParticipant@determined24 not sure about that one. I will need to look into it.
This is probably an easy one:
Generally, an agency relationship is terminated by operation of law in all of the following situations, except the:
A.principal's death.
B.principal's incapacity.
C.agent's renunciation of the agency. — CORRECT
D.agent's failure to acquire a necessary business license.
Probably my late night overthinking but to be an agent you are not required to have a business license? C definitely seems like the better answer–I know the rule where only the Principal can cancel the contract not the agent so C makes the most sense, just can't understand D…are they saying in situations where you would be required to have a license that failure to acquire it would end the relationship?

mtaylo24ParticipantSticky Nicky – Here's what I did this go round in 26 days
1. Reviewed all of my old Gleim sessions before even bothering with Ninja, took a week & 1/2.
2. Started Ninja 3 weeks prior to the exam, hit review phase the week before, then did adaptive in sets of 20 btw Ninja & Gleim until test day, 4900 Ninja MCQs!
3. Worked only the tax sims in Gleim sim wizard.I honestly would have needed another week to feel comfy, but I'll take the 75!

Did you take the Gleim practice test? I know how Jeff feels about practice tests but I’ve always taken them.
2nd go with REG on Monday and haven’t taken it yet. I feel like I forget everything I learn overnight when I sleep. So frustrating.FAR 65 8/17/15 (NINJA Notes/Book/Audio/MCQ) retake 4/3/16 61 (Gleim didn't study)3rd try Nov '16

aatouralParticipantCongrats @mtaylo24. Hoping to get that beautiful score as well lol
So how did it go yesterday. I feel unlike any of my other 2 exams I've taken. I feel that I either totally bombed it or I passed. The one good thing I must say is that I knew exactly every topic they tested me on. I was worried about other people mentioning that some topics were foreign to them that did not happen to me at all. It is hard to say thu how my test lets went if medium, medium, medium, or medium medium hard, or medium hard hard, because some questions were very tricky I even caught them on that and others were just straight to the point. The SIMS (Sigh!). I had to rush to finish and leave me some time to check. All of them were very straight forward I knew exactly what I had to do, however, a couple of them the answer were derivative of what you had done before so I am scared I had messed it up completely.
That is why I think I either totally failed or I passed. Very weird feeling about this exam overall.BEC - PASSED

mtaylo24Participant@FLACPA, I might of done one or two short 20 question practice exam sessions, but didn't really take them too seriously.
@Spartans92 Congrats buddy! Sorry to harass with those terrible Gleim questions I posted!AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)

HoosierCPAParticipant@aatoural your experience (minus the sims) sounds similar to my prior experiences with the exam. You spend hours upon hours drilling into all the small details of tax and b-law only to find out they don't really test on the intricacies. I remember one time being so frustrated because I spent so long trying to get AMT down, I finally got to a point where I was confident on it — then I finish the exam like wtf…seriously test me on this damn concept!!!
However, I could say that about all the exams, they end up only testing you on about 10% of what you learned..it'll drive you crazy.

HoosierCPAParticipantQuestion on the 1120 line 26 (other deductions).
I am working through a sim and Organizational costs and startup costs both land under this line.
Here is Ninja's explanation on the line 26 answer:
“Line 26: The other deduction is $29,000, which is the amount given in the introductory material. The start-up and organization costs were incurred in Year 4. Because the start-up costs of $60,000 exceed the $50,000 threshold amount, Tulinsky must amortize these costs over 180 months. The organization costs of $50,000, however, do not exceed the $50,000 threshold amount and thus $5,000 can be deducted in Year 4 with the remaining $45,000 being amortized over 180 months. Therefore, the deduction in Year 5 of $7,000 is computed as follows:
Start-up costs = ($60,000 ÷ 180 months) × 12 months = $4,000
Organization costs = (($50,000 – $5,000) ÷ 180 months) × 12 months = $3,000
Adding the $29,000 to this $7,000 results in a total for this line of $36,000.”First off the start up costs you don't deduct the $5K?
Also for the Organizational costs I understand what they are doing however what I don't udnerstand is why the $5K doesn't get included in line 26 as well…so looking above under the Org costs why the $3K and the $5K aren't summed up for a total Org Cost of $8K?
Hopefully that makes sense…having a hard time explaining my thinking!
