@wannabe I've already taken FAR on 11/4 and waiting for my score (11/24) and that is the reason why I didn't want to check. To stay focused on REG and pretending the score is not out until 11/30 which is the day I will take REG. My plan is to check the score right after my REG exam, which is as exciting as it gets 😉

I don't know what I would do zubairs. I can check it for you again if you want. But you cheated last time and checked yourself too.

@mommy lol at cheating 😛 I fell asleep and when I woke up I saw your mail but no score. So I got anxious and checked it myself 😉 I'll let you know if I want you to check it again

Cheater cheater cheater. 🙂 I was sending a prep email so you could wake up before I sent the score. This time I could send you a singing card link if you would prefer. “Zubair, zubair. You rocked that test! Zubair, zubair. You're better than the rest!” How does that sound?

Mort and Mindy met at a New Years eve party held December 31st year 1. They instantly bonded, fell madly in love, and were married at 11:38 PM that night. Sadly, Mort passed away November 15, year 2. In January, Year 3,Mindy gave birth to triplets Mark, Mandy and Maureen. Assuming Mindy has not remarried, what filing status should she use for year 5?

    A.Head of Household

    B.Married filing Jointly

    C.Single

I didn't pay attention to what year he died and when she got pregnant so I was going to ask if there was a status for “promiscuous” or “hooked up due to mourning”?

It's questions like the 1 below that are the most frustrating when you know the topic inside & out and still manage to get the question wrong.

Q: Which of the following credits may be offset against the gross estate tax to determine the net estate tax of a U.S. citizen?

    A- Unified credit

B- Credit for gift taxes paid on gift made after 1976

    Choices:

    A. Both A and B

    B. Neither A nor B

    C. Only B

    D. Only A

    REG 68,87
    BEC 85
    FAR 75
    AUD 64,64, 86!

@wannabe That's what I picked, the answer is D though.

    Here's the explanation:

Estate and gift taxation has been combined into a unified system. The unified credit is a specific credit allowed against the estate tax and will encompass prior gifts as well.

As a result, option B (credit for gift taxes paid on gift made after 1976) is already included in option A, the unified credit.

    REG 68,87
    BEC 85
    FAR 75
    AUD 64,64, 86!
