SomedayCPA2015ParticipantThat is so great @MommyBear!!!! I'm taking my exam Wednesday so I can enjoy my holiday weekend with the family. Your family sounds so supportive of you in this journey!!!! And what lucky kids to get to go to LEGOLAND!!

MommyBearMember@Someday–You planned it well! Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family!!! You've earned it! I purposely chose after Thanksgiving so I can have those extra study days during the break, but it was going to be difficult if my kids noticed I wasn't around. Luckily they won't bat an eye since they rarely get to see my brother and his family. My family is very supportive. I have been really lucky in that regard. My husband takes care of the house and the laundry and my parents watch the kids a lot since my husband is usually at work during my study hours. My brother lives in another state and has offered multiple times to have the girls come stay with them in the summer so I could study. I felt they were too young for that, but the offer meant so much. I read horror stories about nonsupportive spouses and family and it breaks my heart. That is added stress that no one going through this process needs. We put enough stress on ourselves. We don't need to hear ridiculous comments from others.

SomedayCPA2015ParticipantWow! That is so generous of them to offer that! Your kids will have a great time, and it sounds like you'll get to enjoy a little family time around food in between your studies. Just don't eat too much turkey and have it put you to sleep. Haha
I wish I could pass off some of the house duties, but apparently I'm the only one who sees a mess. For these 2.5 weeks leading up to the exam I'm doing the same as them, and just dealing with the clutter. If it ever gets to be too much, I just put on my headphones, listen to some Ninja audio and get some cleaning done. 😉

MommyBearMemberHaha. Our house is still very messy. He does the important stuff like dishes, laundry, etc. but he has two jobs and cannot keep up with the aftermath our 3 little tornadoes leave behind. I have blinders on when I'm studying. I don't notice the messiness at all, but the day after each test I look around my house and think, what happened here and who lives like this??? Then things get back to order within a few weeks. We are starting to get our 5 year old to really clean up after herself, but she hardly makes a mess. The 1 and 3 year olds are a completely different story. 🙂

AnonymousInactive@Mommy – That's awesome that your husband is so helpful. I do a job share (2 days/week) and my husband travels internationally a lot for work so it's me to cook/clean/laundry at my house. My dad helps out with the boys when I work, but it's still exhausting. I told my husband no cleaning until my test and my family is coming to my house for Thanksgiving this year and bringing everything (I usually cook), so that I can study. Why did it seem like a good idea to take this test after the holiday???

CPAfitParticipant@mommy & @bucky at one point I thought I entered a mommy confession thread instead of REG study group but then I realized I'm the only one in this thread who's not a mommy 😛
So how is everyone feeling today/tonight?. I just got done with R1 (individual tax) all MCQs & SIMS and now moving on to R2 (AGI & Itemized deduction). I scored around 65% on all the MCQs even though I was expecting to be around 70s, since I was doing it for the second time. I still have Blaw left completely and I want to do my first Becker final exam on Saturday to gauge my weak areas. Praying for a miracle

SomedayCPA2015ParticipantHahahaha @zubairs!
I'm trying to follow the Ninja method, and am currently re-writing my notes. I'm sort of doing it by section, and then working problems on said section to cement it in my brain. My point in bringing up the Ninja method, really, is that I am still trying to debate on doing a practice exam(s). The only benefit I can see for myself is just gaining more exposure to questions. But I'm afraid it kills my confidence and sets me up for failure. Do most of you do practice exams?

MommyBearMember@zubairs–I don't personally know anyone else taking this test that has kids and works. The one person I do know personally that is taking this test is single with no kids and constantly complains to me about not being able to find time to study even though I see her on FB out and about all the time. I've got nothing good to say to her so here I am…. 🙂
As for your study plan. It sounds good. I have a lot of faith that you can get through everything. I am in the same boat. I haven't touched entity tax in the MCQ and have half of blaw questions left. I remember A LOT of blaw on my exam so it makes me nervous that I am not even close to mastering that information. Tis the season for miracles. I hope we all get one!!

MommyBearMember@someday–I usually do a practice exam 2 weeks out so I can study my weak points. I haven't done that yet because I haven't gotten through all the material. I don't know where the time went this time. I thought I was in really good shape and then someone sped the clock up without warning me. I may do a practice test next Tuesday so I can focus on the problem areas Wed-Fri before my test on Sat. I am thinking about rewriting my notes today if I can fit it in. Maybe 2 pages every hour if nothing needs my immediate attention at work. Hopefully Ninja MCQ will be back up tonight so I can get some practice in.

CPAfitParticipant@someday I try to do the practice exams at least a week before my test, so even If I do get a low score I would have enough time to work on the weak areas. Also as a lot of people have posted in Becker vs. Actual thread, Becker final exams are way tougher than the real thing so if you do good in that, you should be all set for game day 🙂
@mommy I really don't mind the mommy stories up in here 🙂 In fact it inspires and motivates me to do my best, since the only responsibility I have at the moment is of a full time job as compared to y'all having FT jobs, 3 kids and a husband.

CPAfitParticipantAs for my score I was going to make a thread about it, but it's better you asked here. I'm thinking to check my score right after my REG exam but I'm not sure If I can hold on that long. I have this very bad habit of over thinking and it sometimes gets the best of me 🙁 Also coming on the forum during score release would tempt me to check my score. So i'm still not sure. A passing score can give me the extra confidence I need for my last exam but a failing score would destroy me and might affect my performance on REG. So let me know what you guys think

SG0116MemberStarting to freak out about my REG exam next week! Just one week left and I'm not feeling great. This is my second battle with REG and my last section needed to pass the exam! Any tips on what to do for this last week? Anything I should absolutely without a doubt know and what I should focus my energy on?! Any help would be much appreciated!
