    @mommy well all of us are pretty much in the same position. I'm done with most of the tax MCQs and SIMS at least once right now. I've got Blaw and ethics remaining completely. I'll be following your advice on Blaw and will go through it only once. After that it will be just me and my tax till the exam day. This week is very critical for us and it can be our make or break moment. So let's keep the positive vibes flowing and get this done πŸ™‚

    Hey now. I'm entitled to get down about this exam every once in a while. πŸ™‚ The positive attitude is reserved for others, not for myself. Hahaha

    1933 and 1934 are much more extensive than the Ninja audio. Definitely need to make good notes from the test bank and study those.

    The good news is that all of the “Acts” are pretty self explanatory. Flashcard memorization for those.

    Eh. Blaw today just to brush up before I jump back into corp tax. I could be doing better, that's for sure. I'll be happy to look at some individual tax questions before I have to stop to do all of my daughters' hair. πŸ™‚

    Sorry, my page keeps freezing, and I can't tell if I posted or not… so 3rd times a charm…

    I test on Tuesday @ 8 am and am into the final final review now… AICPA released questions, flashcards, and notes review… however I still want to “brush up” the more challenging areas my list so far is 1231, 1245, 1250, AMT, Like Kind Exchange, and MACRS conventions.

    Can you think of anything else I should add tonight / tomorrow? I know everyone is different but anything tripping you up I may have forgotten?

    Rich Electronics sells various brand name televisions and stereos at discount prices. Rich maintains a large inventory which it obtains from various manufacturers on credit. These manufacturer-creditors have all filed and taken security interests in the goods and proceeds therefrom which they have sold to Rich on credit. Rich in turn sells to hundreds of ultimate consumers; some pay cash but most buy on credit. Rich takes a security interest but does not file a financing statement for credit sales. Which of the following is correct?

    1)Since Rich takes a purchase money security interest in the consumer goods sold, its security interest is perfected upon attachment.

    2)The appliance manufacturers can enforce their security interests against the goods in the hands of the purchasers who paid cash for them.

    3) A subsequent sale by one of Rich’s customers to a bona fide purchaser will be subject to Rich’s security interest.

    4) The goods in Rich’s hands are consumer goods.

    Can someone explain to me why choice 2 is wrong? The manufacturer's have filed their security interests so should it not hold good against future buyer in the ordinary course of business?

    @pia–Is the answer A? My notes say a store retains security interest and it is automatically perfected when the goods are sold to customers on credit.

    @tax
    lady–Thanks–2 weeks out is my normal time frame for freaking out. πŸ™‚ I know there is still plenty of time. I just have to manage it well.

    @cpamommy yes you are right..and i got the confusion cleared regarding option 2..buyers in the ordinary course of business have highest priority even against perfected security interest.
