I read that someone earlier posted they started studying for REG with business law instead of tax. I started with tax. For those of you who have gone through both – would y'all say they need about the same attention? I assumed the law part was looked at first as to be able to concentrate on tax, but I don't know that.
@HR Blaw is A LOT of information, so it may take you more time to get through it. Usually people have little experience with Blaw so it takes them even more time than say, tax, because we're all at least vaguely familiar with tax. Hope this helps.
@Future oh no! sorry!! Looks like we're re-taking around the same day- best of luck to you!

Future Ninja, honest question here. Why don't you space your two exams out a little bit more and give each a bit more attention? I couldn't imagine trying to study for multiple exams at once. Let alone taking two exams on the same day. I mean if you fail either BEC or REG, the earliest you can retake the section is July so why rush it now in early April when you only have a couple of weeks to study?
Not trying to be snarky or anything. I realize everyone has different methods and different situations that dictate when they can and cannot take things.
HRSexton: The reason to study Business Law first is because it's much more conceptual. So once you finish it, the review goes much easier. The Becker Lecturer who recommended this strategy told me that a lot of people who start with Tax finish Tax, finish Business Law and then go back and have to re-do Tax from the beginning because they forgot a lot of the information.
But there's no right or wrong way to do it. Do whatever is most comfortable for you.
@Gabe & Angel Well, here's hoping I chose the right way with starting tax first.
@Future I see you're planning on taking both tests in the same day. That's impressive. You obviously know your stuff to get a 74 so I'm assuming you just need to do a little fine tuning?
I am currently using Becker book, ninja MCQ's and Ninja Audio. I am thinking about getting Wiley test bank as well. Is anybody using Wiley test bank and how does it compare with Ninja MCQ? I am in a review mode right now trending 93% with ninja. i have gotten to the point where the questions look all too familiar. Maybe, Wiley might give a different feel about these questions, however, i am tempted to think these questions might be the same as ninja's. Your Wiley experience is greatly appreciated!
@only when do you sit? I am in the same shoes…currently trending at 95%, average is 79%. A friend gave me their Wiley/CPAexceltest bank. I would say…65/70% of the MCQs are the same was Ninja. I did find the SIMS were different, but I don't know if I'd pay for it, as the MCQs are so similar.

Hi all guys! I am joining Q2 again for REG this year.
@Gabe, I like your idea of having a summary of all the bases in the world. Let's do that.
I got the chance to see your LinkedIn account and also NJ's. I was trying to message you or something but since I don't have a premium account, it would not let me send it. How do you link your username here to LinkedIn?
Yeah I noticed you can't message if you're not premium…which is weird. To add LinkedIn go to your profile, edit, and under “website” put your linkedin profile.
ps what kind of dog is in your avatar?
