    @delsol1989 and @10YRS

    I am taking REG on 10/8 as well! I'm through all of the material, but my review is going slow. I was weak on taxation on my first go-round last year. Corporate Taxation is really tough for me…

    I've never heard of Bisk, I'm re-using Becker and have Wiley book for reference and confirmation on some of the areas I think Becker doesn't explain well. I'm not a fan of Becker, but I'm cheap so I didn't want to pay for Yaeger for this section as well. Hopefully this second time through will get me enough to get past the 75 mark!

    I've got a baby due in the beginning of November and lose my BEC PASS in January, so passing this time is VERY IMPORTANT!!!

    @delsol1989

    Looks like u are well prepared!! Gud luck.

    Wiley is gud.This is the only one i have used and i dont have any reference to compare it with the others.So i feel its gud.

    Am planning on using Gleim for audit as i have read that its better for audit.

    Am still stuck with individuals:-(( Hopefully i can be done this weekend.

    @bitchycpacandidate

    congrats on the baby.U seem to have cut v close last time u took REG so hopefully u can tweak it up by a point so that u can be done.

    And…when can we expect our scores for this exam.I need my first pass!!!

    @10YRS, we can expect to wait a longggg time 🙁 I'm taking this exam and then forgetting about it as much as possible. I take it 10/1 and expected grade release is 11/5, over a frickin month! If you're in a good state you may see it the Friday prior, but I know mine won't show till the 5th at the earliest. AND it's my last one, so I'm going to be beyond anxious. :'(

    Thanks everyone for the extra help with capital assets. I'll cross my fingers that I get at least one question on the matter.

    What do you think of the AMT preferences and adjustments?

    Are you only concerned for the ones in the Becker questions or are you trying to memorize the list start to finish? That is a lot of memorization that I am not sure will stick.

    Finishing up Law and going to start my final review. For any one who is taking the exam before, should i do tax first in my review or last? My exam is scheduled for the 20th but considering to move it up to the 13th to be able to get my score on time. I got my masters in tax and prepare tax returns for a living so I feel comfortable with the return portion of the exam.

    Thank you for your comments!

    Good Luck to everyone taking the test tomorrow. Put away the books and go to bed. The best thing you can do right now is get a good night's sleep.

    I'm almost finished with the business law portion! I read all the modules twice except the property, did all the MC questions in test bank and wiley book, went back on some questions I answered incorrectly. I just wanted this law portion to be finished ‘coz I find it so boring to study! I read it twice because I know that there's no way I could absorb all the important details in just one reading. Oh well, one more day for this boring stuff, then I'll move on to taxation.

    DONE!!!

    Did you all feel like this was not in English when you started studying as well? I just started R3 and feel like this is all going right over my head. I took one tax class almost 3 years ago and beyond that pretty much have no prior knowledge of tax. Should I be going back and redo the previous ones until I semi understand them?

    So frustrated!

    P.s. Jeff I really like this!

    Hi all, Taking REG for my 3rd time on Friday the 5th. I'm a little confused on this question from Wiley Test Bank

    Calvin Poultry Co. offered to sell Chickenshop 20,000 pounds of chicken at 40 cents per pound under specified delivery terms. Chickenshop accepted the offer as follows:

    “We accept your offer for 20,000 pounds of chicken at 40 cents per pound per city scale weight certificate.”

    Which of the following is correct?

    Answers:

    • Chickenshop’s reply constitutes a counteroffer and no contract was formed.

    • Chickenshop’s reply constitutes a conditional acceptance, but not a counteroffer.

    • A contract was formed on Chickenshop’s terms.

    • A contract was formed on Calvin’s terms.

    My thought was that because Calvin originally made the offer and even though it was oral, Chickenshop accepted the offer with an immaterial change. I remember from Becker that Written Confirmation of a offer for Goods made a deal despite it not being signed by the offeror. This quesiton is annoying because it's splitting hairs. The Contract was made on Calvin's original terms but because Chickenshop sent the written confimation is that the determining factor as to whose terms were actually used?

    Explanation:

    This answer is correct because between merchants, additional and different terms become part of the contract unless they materially alter it, notification of objection to them is given within a reasonable time, or the original offer expressly limited acceptance to the terms of the offer. The additional and different term added by Chickenshop is neither material nor contrary to the terms of the original offer. And the original offer did not expressly limit acceptance to its terms. Therefore, a contract was formed on Chickenshop’s terms.

    How important is it to know all of the tax forms and their purpose? Should i really be focusing on that?

    @Amanda L,

    I don't think so, I never got any questions on what the actual form number was. Obviously know the usuals, 1040, Sch A, C, E, 1041, 1065, 1120. Those are ones that may be referred to in a question. Typically it'll be italicized and with the full name of the form.

    I'm concerned about AMT and Accumulated Earnings Adjustments. Anyone have pearls of wisdom? R3 is the beast of REG. I'm spending the whole weekend there…..again.

    Hey guys.

    I need your input/ opinion. I will be wrapping my REG review by end of next week, which will leave exactly one month until test date. Although this may seem like plenty of time, the issue is that I understand/remember 40% of the Becker REG material (may be less). Now, I work approx. 55-60 hours a week at a big four firm so, again, that one month may not seem like a lot of time. My question is what would you guys do the remaining one month? I want to complete the course all over again (i.e. videos, MCQs, SIMS); however, I'm afraid I will not have enough time to do this. Instead, I was thinking about reviewing Becker flash cards and drilling the MCQs as this will allow me to more quickly review the material. Any inputs? Appreciate any inputs or opinions. I did well on FAR, but I did this during the summer while not working, so its a bit different with REG. Thanks.

    Journey begins in July 2012.

    REG - 89 (11/19/2012)
